Lubricants and pumping are involved in both cases. Downhill also has big balls in common :P

    The end is nigh*.

*The Gulag years are nearly over. Happy days.

Oil contacts: Sold, for a Goodwill figure.
Baling equipment: 2 offers on the table without advertising.
Oil equipment: Sold a SS filter rig yesterday and got a subsequent call from purchaser about other items, ching ching.
28 x 1100L Wheelie bins for sale. Have sold a few of them before at half price and they went like hot cakes.

My redundancy payment is looking quite rosy at the moment. Which will of course be paid partly within this tax year and partly in the next and will be paid as a standing order in the form of a wage - which will all make perfect sense to you.

@MH. I did some cycling today but I have the van to service tomorrow and do a re-audit of remaining equipment. Supposed to be strong winds and gales the morra. Today's cycle was A1 in sunny, cold but breathless conditions. I had to buy extra deep filled Apple Crumble cake and a large Latte at the local coffee shop to make up for the calorie deficit, you know how it is, with Toots 2 in hand - Very handy for wooing the cute waitress from Chelmsford.

Pinno, Stevo is obviously the expert here, but the standing order part of your redundancy paid as a wage is surely taxable? I believe that the first 30k of any redundancy payment is tax free anyway so I presume you are deferring anything over the 30k limit.
What you are doing makes sense if you are presently a higher tax payer and next year will be paying the basic rate.
    As I said, ask Stevo.

Thanks Bally. It's not quite like that. I will be in the employ of the organisation until April 2017. Does it make sense now?

@ PlMa: She's from Chelmsford. I live no where near Chelmsford.

Was there in '85 at the Cricket Ground the day Boris Becker won Wimbledon. Australia got beat by Essex. Jeff Thomson kept bowling no balls and the crowd reminded him of that every run up, there was a bomb scare and we all had to go on the pitch. Gooch opened and scored 77. Great day.

"I know that, but wondered on the name as I might have been thru it!" She is about 19/20 - hard to tell these days. I'm sure Adam Johnson would agree.

The grizzly old man is up Norf sucking on chips and drinking Tesco's own lager out of a tin.
    Team47b is AWOL.
Bally won't be out (released) until 11pm.
Flaneur's plans have been piddled on by lurgy but he has an alternative.
Czech girl is otherwise occupied and so won't be babysitting and I won't get any cheeky glances at her cleavage.
MF is stitching limbs back on with a staple gun somewhere in deepest darkest warzone.

    Ho hum.
