Only 47 seconds separates 2nd from 5th place. without Froome, this TDF would be up in the air!

Throw him out for snaffling some gels and you'll have an amazing next 2 days.

    worth considering

I would give him a time penalty min

Part of me agrees. Very very dodgy stuff from Sky today. Muchos disappointed.

    Never gonna happen is it?

Worst case, they throw Porte out after Froome sheepishly declares he took them in good faith and had no idea where they came from

Brilliant 1st and 2nd Rides. Happy for Quintana too. Porte was great today. Lovely to see Contador losing some more time too. Come on Quintana!

Porte took the gels, and i suspect would take any time penalty you give him...

What are the punishments meted out for similar indiscreditions in the past? Do we have anything as a reference?

They won't. They won't punish him with anything. If they do, I'll eat my hat.

    PEG abuse

    Performance enhancing Gels.

ive had an energy crash before and come to a grinding halt. What next a lift to the top in the car?

    CHEAT TASTIC

I'm not sure you're deadly serious here but a couple of gels vs a car? really?

yup chuck him out or dock him 5 minutes and chuck porte out. Then well have a race right into paris

Well now we have another controversy. Sky just do this to keep Twitter in business ahead of a Murdoch buy out later in the year. You heard it here first.

They won't do it but it' clearly Froome who asks for the illegal drink. They should give him a time penalty.

Personally I like it, maybe at times it goes too far and too close but its all part of the TdF spectacle.

If I was there I would probably do something stupid too! :D

Fuss about nothing. If they do that, I assume there'll be bands of commissaires roaming the grupetto looking for guys taking water of speccies or a push.

I don't often comment on the race threads but that was such a great stage I couldn't help :)

It is heartbreaking for TJ after an amazing effort out front all day.

A brilliant win for Riblon. It's great to see a classic "away-all-day" attack working and a grimpeur taking the stage.

Quitana delivers a big perormance although he was almost as smashed as Froome in the last few kms.

Is Froome in trouble now for taking food from Porte after he presumably took an illegal feed from the SKY car? What is the penalty for whoever it is that is deemed responsible? (Apologies if this has been asked and answered a few pages back.) Thanks.

Personally I'm more concerned about Contador's bike change just as Race Radio announced that the UCI will be weighing bikes at the finish....

Even though all other riders in the race who have done this for the past 2 and a half weeks, as published every morning, have either received financial penalties or no penalty at all?
