    In the 2009 Tour of Austria, Christiane Soeder was guest rider at the 26 km TT stage. Soeder was a top female rider at the time, having finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the GC of the the women's Tour of France in different years between 2005 and 2009. In 2008 she was 4th in the World's RR and 2nd in the World's TT.

    111 male riders were still in the Tour of Austria at the time and the top 5 of the TT turned out to be:

    1. Koos Moerenhout (NED) 31:36
    2. Svein Tuft (CAN) +0:02
    3. Laszla Podrogi (FRA) +0:15
    4. Ian Stannard (GBR) +0:21
    5. Michael Albasini (SUI) +0:37

    Soeder’s time was +2:44, which would have placed her 63th had she been a man. Those she beat included Ben Swift, Benat Intxausti, and Robert Kiserlovski

    Downhill skier Hermann Maier rode the 2003 TdF prologue.

    33km in 36 mins = 55kmh, is that the fastest TDF tt ever? Lemond in paris is listed at 54.5 as the quickest > 20km previously....

    I'll stick my head above the parapet now, I sadly don't think Tony M's time is fast enough to win. The wind will pick up again this afternoon and the later riders will get a good push towards the Mont.

    A good indicator will be Millar's time.

    Boom loses alost 3 minutes to Martin, Thomas almost 4. Thre will be some significnt time gaps between the GC riders
