OGE start to chase Bakelants just as the sprinters group was beginning to make an impression. Bad news for the sprinters.

No idea why it is just Lotto. OPQS and Argos have done maybe 5% of the work...

I bet the Liquigas, Quickstep and Lotto boys were not expecting to work so hard today when they woke up this morning!

    Cheers to them.

Why? Rolland is the team's GC rider and for Voeckler to get the leeway he needs to get in a break, which is his only chance of winning a stage, he needs to be down on GC and not be considered a threat.

I think Cannondale might regret this effort.

    They are done!

    Take a bow. Incredible, Cannondale.

    Absolutely fantastic racing.

Quite hard work riding on the front like that all day.

Looks like Degonkolb is in the front group. So EBH, Sagan, Gerrans and Degenkolb.

They have nothing to lose. These stages are the ones they have to win and they just got rid of the 2 best sprinters...

Rarely you see tactics like this from 100km out. This is what racing is about. Also, they'll most likely get the green jersey.

Now Sagan just have to win this sprint to make it even more admireable.

Canondale should sit back and leave the chase to OGE now.

might bet Degenkolb to beat Sagan, Gerro and EBH will need totally perfect leadouts and a Cannondale screw up to win...

I took 40-1 a while ago on Gerrans. Would have been tempted by Degenkolb, but I couldn't work out if he was there.

EBH, Cannondale will burn out, they've fallen into the Sky trap of working too hard.
'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP

I dunno, Sagan can still sprint.

    I'd say EBH, Sagan 1-2.

I concur, but that requires tactical nous and motivation to win a stage by Sky.

I suppose, the brek element crossed my mind. I thought he was going to try for GC and if something happened to Rolland it would be worth it to take the reigns. In truth he probably (and rightly so) cares more for a stage win or two.

Why are canondale still on the front, surely now that the sprinters group has thrown in the towel they should leave it to the Aussies.?

Had the ITV stream on whilst working, seems an interesting stage from what sounded to be quite dull, great work by Cannondale.

I have a quick question about the intermediate sprint result:

    Intermediate sprints
    Viane 135 km
    1 P. Sagan Cannondale 20
    2 J. Flecha Vacansoleil 17
    3 F. Sabatini Cannondale 15
    4 S. Clarke Orica 13
    5 S. Gerrans Orica 11
    6 D. Impey Orica 10
    7 A. De Marchi Cannondale 9
    8 M. Albasini Orica 8
    9 A. Marangoni Cannondale 7
    10 M. Moser Cannondale 6
    11 K. Koren Cannondale 5
    12 M. Bodnar Cannondale 4
    13 K. Sivtsov Team Sky 3
    14 R. Porte Team Sky 2
    15 P. Kennaugh Team Sky 1

What about the three riders up front? Surely they got the 1,2,3 placings at the intermediate sprint?

Why does Carlton keep referring to the Sky jerseys as dark blue?

Woah, dodgy corner there with a massive wall in the middle of the road.
    Correlation is not causation.

They went up the road after the int. sprint.
