With so many sprinters dropped from the front group, do we think it will come back together, or will OPQS/Lotto just write this one off as a Sagan win?

Cav about 3 mins down on the bunch.

Multiscreen on France TV is great. Moto 3 is following Cav.

Just shown one of the 100 anniversary TdF interviews with riders asked who they had posters of on their wall when they were growing up (Wiggins said Indurain, Contador said Armstrong). Cavendish gave a cheeky smile, and said it may sound brash, but he didn't want to be the next anyone, he always wanted to be the first Mark Cavendish

He says the same thing in his autobiography - when sprinting for road signs on IoM in his youth his mates would be Cippolini or McEwan, he was always just Cavendish.

Moto 3 just sped from the Cav group to the back of the bunch. It took a long time. No way is Cav getting back.

Maybe they can keep this pace up as far as the IS, but to the finish?
Bound to be some form of organized chase, behind.
Cav in group 4 on the road.

Can't see many other teams being that keen to keep the pace high, only Cannondale have much to gain.

I'm slightly surprised about Cavendish, as he looks very lean this year. Maybe he's still not 100% after his illness last week.

The state of the nation with 103km to go. Kadri and Voigt have 1:20 on the peloton, which contains Sagan, the yellow jersey Impey and all of the main overall contenders. Andre Greipel and Marcel Kittel are just under 3 minutes down, while Mark Cavendish is 4:15 back.

OPQS, Lotto and Argos cooperating really well.

Edit: About 15 of the aforementioned riding off and on at the head of the Cav / Greipel / Kittel group.

Does anyone know which part-time sprinters are in the front group? Gerrans, Degenkolb etc

I fancy Sagan to be outsprinted again.

Damn, I hope Sagan nails this one. Fantastic effort from Cannondale. Can't believe they would lighten up this stage which seemed to be doomed as incredibly dull.

Why does anyone wear Jawbones? they look like sunglasses for 7 year old boys who like the Power Rangers.

And in White?? Minging. losing respect for Froome.

    Sainte-Cécile:

It was first built as a fortress in 1287 and was under construction for 200 years. It was granted UNESCO world heritage status in 2010. The Cathedral was built in its fortress like style to symbolise the power of the Catholic church after the brutal suppression of the Albigensian 'heresy'.
