On stage 1 goonz, he and most of the rest of the Oakley wearing peloton wore special centenary edition glasses. I think there may even be a picture of him wearing the centenary edition Oakleys on one of the threads. I'll go on a hunt...

I reckon that's why he fell off in the neutral zone. He wasn't wearing his lucky glasses.

This is true. They look fine on Bernie for example, but then anything would look fine on Bernie (ah, Bernie...), so yes perhaps it is more an issue with the face they are on rather than the glasses themselves.
