Love watching those overhead shots of Cav sprinting

Yep, between them and the head on shots you really see that Greipel, Sagan et al really fight the bike compared to Cav. More power sure, but shows importance of technique

I don't think it's technique as much as they are fighting to get low enough. They have more power but they can't make themselves any smaller and it just results in a scrappy looking style.

Saur Sojasun rider 'We had to work really hard to bring back the breakaway'

    What's this 'we' then, fella?

    Oh now Lefevere...*shudder*

Lefevere is the polar opposite of Madiot then...

    That was painful!

EBH also exhibits a smooth style from that overhead shot.

Nah, it's a good idea. You pick Sagan and he doesn't win. That's why I've been picking him for the last stages and he hasn't won a sausage. It's true. I don't think Sagan's ever won when I've picked him for PTP, OK maybe G-W but that's it. I suppose it depends if you want Cav to win stages or you want to win PTP though... I'm selflessly sacrificing my PTP chances for Cav. :D

When Cav spoke to Ned Boulting yesterday he said he'd been ill (first time he'd admitted it) still wasn't feeling 100%, but hadn't wanted to say anything before because he was worried other teams would have tried to put him under pressure.

This made me think he probably was feeling pretty much 100%. Why keep it quiet for a week and then reveal it if you're worried about other teams taking advantage?

Needs to be right up on Cav's wheel to guarantee second.

Doesn't EBH tend to thrash his head up and down when he sprints (which you wouldn't necessarily see from a helicopter shot)?

Raging. Prior to TTT I had Cav, Sagan, Greipel. Swapped Millar, EBH & Bauer in for TTT & forgot to swap back this morning. Grrrrr

Indeed. I've made it a policy this year never to pick for PTP someone I'd actually like to win.

Sure. Cav would be favourite every time. But it you don't buy a ticket you can't win the raffle.

Watch it again. See how far back Sagan comes from and how much further he travels.

That said Cav always seems to have another kick if he needs it....

I did pick Cav in the Giro but that was because he didn't really have any real competition and it seemed a bit silly not to pick him in that situation.

I have on my sack cloth and I'm about to cover myself in ashes.

...Right I suppose I better get back to reading this *really boring* dissertation. This student has turned what should be a really interesting topic into a turgid drone, it's quite an achievement.

    Great finish.
Can't believe how many moaning about EBH being on Cav's wheel? So what was Cav not on wheels for the entire race until last 300m? Who's wheel should he have been on then I wonder? Schlek's?
Guarenteed EBH 2nd place and in position if Cav faded.
Poor positioning by Sagan. Great rider but not a natural when comes to positioning, he was in wind way too long.
    Argos Shimano? Faded badly.
Gutsy ride by GT hope he recovers, he will have lot to offer later in race if he recovers.

Sagan certainly had a good jump but then Cav keeps him at bay and is pulling way as he sits up at the line - that's what I saw anyway.

I think the best clean way to beat Cav is to go for a long one without him on your wheel, but Sagan is not really good enough for that, so he would more likely finish 6th than 1st.

Let's be honest, we moan about the commentary, but we've never had it so good here in the UK with regards to decent coverage.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Oh jesus, I've just realised I picked Cav for tomorrow's stage earlier today. Do I go and change it? I'm getting really superstitious. If he doesn't win it will be my fault. :?  What do I do? Help!
