yep - he'll add a matte or gold anodised finish included in the price too

think it's gonna have to be done...

I'm currently waiting for him to send me a price inc shipping so I can pay for it!

I'll have to find some ti chainring bolts now though!

nice. Look forward to seeing some photos

How are you finding the cassette setup now after a few rides? Been looking at 11 speed for a new build but price jump is huge in comparison and I doubt the shift quality is that much better. Don't really.need the 40t where I am but good to have the option for the odd trip out.

Yeah, loving it. No complaints. Shifts fine, works really well. I'll be interested to see how long the alloy cogs actually last but seems spot on so far.

Going to go with the 11 speed as cost of cassette plus the AB adapter pushes overall into similar cost. Obviously shifter and mech are more than the 10 speed but the lack of compromise and that AB chain rings are 11 speed compatible balances out for me.

The allow should hold up fine. Back in the day I used to run a full alloy cassette with integrated body on Ringle hubs which had no free hub body and they lasted ok.

I was put off the absolute black by all the "not suited to hamfisted shifting" warnings - I have been known to want to grab a gear at short notice with accompanying snarling of chain and ring! I know I am a bad person. I kick puppies too.

oops...not sure why I couldn't find this thread. Slightly worrying that

    Oh well...

A few upgrades coming, the main one will be swapping out the Domain 318 for a brand spanking new Lyrik RC2 DH 170mm (coil). I'm hoping that will give me the feel of a mini Boxxer on the descents (the Domain wasn't far off this tbh but not quite there and very weighty), be more effective on the climbs as well as shave ~500g off the front end...all that for £380. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Also ordered one of the Superstar Project 3D stems - never been that happy with the look of the Kore Durox (as well as it sounding like a condom) stem that's on there now and with the CONTROL25 discount reckon I could even make a little money by selling the Kore unit on.

Apart from that, still dreaming about carbon rims but I'm fairly confident these Flow's will get me through another Alpine summer...unless of course they go on the DH bike

Rebuild & custom tune on the Monarch RT3. New stem fitted, new lower cup & bearings in and new forks on. Little 6km test ride - initial thoughts on the Lyrik RC2DH Coil...fecking awesome! - just whacked all the dials in the middle and a slightly slower rebound and it feels sweet as...

I had a Lyrik RC2DH. Brilliant fork, felt like a short travel boxer.

Very impressed so far. Get the feeling with a bit of tweaking of dials it might perform better than the Boxxer Race (RC?) on the Session

Mine felt pretty similar to my Boxxer R2C2 so a fair bit better than the Boxxer RC

Any tips on setup or just use the info on Sram's webby as a starting point and go from there?

Well I can safely say that the Lyrik has really completed the bike. The whole thing just feels properly balanced now. The Lyrik is ~500g lighter than the Domain so guess that's not much of a surprise. The damper in this fork is really exceptional though. I'd really love to test a Pike and a 40 now just to prove that I made the right decision...once you ride a half decent coil fork, it's hard to go back to air with all that stiction and small bump vibration

The only slight negative is that with the Domain I could dial the compression adjuster all the way in for the tarmac climbs and it would really stiffen the fork up, pretty much like a lock-out. This doesn't seem to be the case on the Lyrik - not a big issue as I generally just sit and spin up but now and again when you want to give your bum and calfs a rest it's nice to get out of the saddle for a bit and it's always a but disheartening watching your fork bob up and down...even a little bit. But having no pedal platform is a small price to pay for the fun I get on the way down and by all accounts the Floodgate platform isn't anything to write home about

And the tune on the Monarch has made the shock into what I feel it always should've been. My advice - anyone running a Monarch RT3, get a custom tune and you'll have a much improved ride.

I have seen pics of a new prototype Lyrik, that could be interesting. Probably only available in 27.5+ though, or whatever new standard comes along next year.
