I remember when GT were the best. What went wrong? Their modern trail, enduro and downhill bikes just aren't what they should be.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

1998 GT Nomad steel frame
I'm a GT Nomad owner in Hong Kong. My brother give it to me years ago for daily commute, restore it last summer, diy using can spray at home, i spend three week to finish the project. Don't know the parts and setting is appropriate, it feels great to ride on it.Please leave me some comments for improvement.

I'd forgotten about this thread! I recently bought a GT Grade AL 105 'gravel bike' to cycle to work and as my weekend road bike - so now I have TWO GTs. I must take some pics of the Grade - I'm really impressed with it.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

I posted pictures of my new Avalanche Expert back in May 2015. Here's a couple of more recent pictures
Upgrades included Atherton Pro handlebars, stem and seat, Rockshox Reverb, Rockshox Reba (not pictured), SLX cranks, Shimano XT wheels, Shimano XT brakes
And here's the last picture I have of it, as some scumbag stole it

I'm a scrap dealer and have come across a Gt Saskatoon pro frame from the 2006 World Cup series but I have no idea how much it is worth and seems like no one else does either I can't even find it on the Internet
If someone could help on how I could post photos on here it would be a great help0 -
From a time when GT were just making rubbish so it's probably worth no more than its scrap value.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Anyone got ideas of the year model or where to find some specs for this frame?

You have inspired me to dust off the old arrowhead frame see what components I can scrounge to get it up and running.

Just built up a 2011 Zaskar Expert (aluminium) as a N+2 bike for winter, but it might become a favourite as it feels quite light and nimble.
Medium frame,
Sid dual air forks set at 120mm
1x10 with 40t expander and Hope 34t chainring
Pro 2 hubs with Arch EX tubeless rims
Hope btm bracket
SLX cranks, brakes, mech and shifter.
Easton XC70 685mm bars
Leaving the spacers under the stem for now just in case I don't get on with the bike, as the steerer tube is cut for its predecessor (Cotic Soul) that I may go back to.0 -
This is my 2003 Avalanche 3.0, I bought it for AU$100 (about US$75) a few weeks ago.
It's changed a bit since the photos (new cranks and Raceface NW chainring) and after Xmas I'll strip the frame and polish the aluminium. I'll upgrade the forks at some stage but they work ok for now.

Those bars are horrible. The forks are nasty as well.
Tidy for $100 though.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
