Mine was fairly rare as it was a very very late one that had a disc mount and a cnc machined brace across the chain stays that other ones didn't. The bloke that sold it me reckoned that it was one of the team issue ones because of these but was never used! It stayed in the box until 2009 when the guy I bought it off dragged it out of storage!
Was a lovely frame, suspension design was very out of date now days though! Worked well but the bushes did it no favours!0 -

The suspension does look "unique" to what ive seen on most if not all other FS bikes, how much did you sell it for if you dont mind me asking?0 -
They all look awesome Supersonic, but the red rocket is exceptional. Love it.0

Small change to mine, Michelins off, Maxxis Aspens on. (Bonus points for lining up valves with tyres? )
Excuse the crap photos, havent got nice ones yet! Probably gonna be crap offroad because of the stem and bar setup...its sort of an "aggressive" leaning forward sort of stem, with relatively short flat bars. Still having issues with my front mech aswell, despite me screwing in the BB further.0 -
Supersonic those black zaskars are sweet.
Here's my GT's
2008 avalanche 1.0 and 2001 I-drive 4.0
Also have a 2009 avalanche 2.0 frame

Im ordering a disc at the end of this week. Same as the one on the back. Ive got the bolts and the caliper all ready. Im going hydros front and back now, ditching the cable calipers.
Im missing something else on there aswell. See if you can find it.0 -

only looks like you got one pedal as
might jus be bad picture quality thou0 -
The picture is dreadful, but both pedals are still clearly there!
Its one of the chainring bolts. The one closest to the floor. I only noticed it when i got home. I took this pic fully unaware that i was missing one.0 -
A chain tensioner would make your drive a lot quiter0
-
If anything i thought it would be louder with the chain rubbing along it.0

Stops (some) chain slapCube Analog 2012 with various upgrades.0

Its a slight hum opposed to a slapping chain0

Hopefully this will work,
My GT ZUM 4.0
Bought 2nd hand 2 months ago.
Was running Tioga 1.25 tyres but have changed to Continental Race Kings 2.0, also changed Tektro v brakes to Shimano Deore XT, crank just changed to Hollowtech II with BB, I have a set of WTB Speed master rims with Deore hubs in transit awaiting delivery and lastly today I collect my MKS Lite pedals.
Here is the bike before crank change
This is with new crankset
Once new wheels and pedals are on il pop a few more pics up.
This is my first bike in a very long time, I rode when I was in my teens but at 43 now I'm loving it all over again.
Here is crankset with new MKS Lite pedals
Front and rear Deore XT V Brakes

Ive never heard of a GT Zum before. Those parts no doubt are a big improvement over the old ones.

Nice I drive bob
The zum is a hybrid, been around a while I believe and still being made.
I would say a 2.1 tyre would be the absolute maximum width you could fit due to the narrow rear forks!
I'm running the 2.0 and I may have 5mm either side of tyre between the rear.
I must say the crank and bb has made a huge difference, sooo smooth and complete silence!!
Cheers

I remember when GT bikes were some of the best.
The Avalanche and Zaskar were really great bikes.
What went wrong with them?
The last modern GT I rode was a 2012 carbon Fury and for what it cost it was crap. Maybe its replacement will be better.
It would be good to see GT back at the top.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I love every one of the GTs that ive ever had. The retro GTs look a mile better than the new ones if you ask me, and i still love my old Arrowhead frame, thats why i keep bringing it back from the dead. I wish i could have a go on a Zaskar or an Avalanche. Well, I know for sure that my next bike if i get one will be a retro Zaskar. They are beautiful and apparently unbreakable.
The newest GT i have ever been on is my own Chucker, which i love so far.
Whats wrong with the "modern" GTs? Arent they winning near enough everything with the Athertons? (i dont follow the racing, but i so frequently see on facebook that GT get loads of podiums and wins, and i believe they won the world cup with Rachel Atherton?) If im right, then doesnt that mean that GT are already on top?
The replacement for the 2012 carbon fury had loads of wins as a prototype didnt it? If so, then it is probably better.0 -

They aren't riding production bikes. Have you seen how the non factory riders are doing on GT Fury's? When they hold together long enough to do a full run they are just a bit rubbish. The current carbon Fury is pretty bad to ride for what it costs.
Here's a Fury doing what they do best.
