Sad but not a massive surprise given the paucity of premier calendar road races. Hopefully both can be resolved over the next couple of years.

Genuinely nice bloke and a late breakaway specialist. Hopefully he'll get into a few breaks next year.
  • Anton most likely to team Colombia.

    Rabon goes into MTB.

An odd staff change: Sky's DS Dan Hunt has left to go and work for the Premier League developing young footballers.

Not so much when you think of it. Parker to rugby end-12, Steve Peters spending much of the week with LFC...I think its part and parcel of other sports wanting some of the sprinkle dust from British cycling.

As for Hunt himself...think its possible that he struggled a bit this year with the transition from track to becoming a DS. Sky's proved that coaches brought in from other sports can work very very well, but a guy becoming a DS with no experience whatsover of the road scene...hugely difficult challenge I'd imagine - for himself, for the riders and the team overall. There were a few murmurings of unhappiness about the instructions coming from the team car at Trentino and the Giro (though tbf Hunt was only one of the DSs at each of those races)

    Does Digger know that?

Could explain the miraculous improvement in Liverpool's performance this year.

He he, I didnt say angel dust.... :)

I find that Karol knows bugger all about cycling so I doubt it.

Apparently in Peter's first week there, there were at least 10 members of the squad who'd signed up for sessions with the Chimp one.

Daniel Sturridge (currently the Premiership's second top goalscorer) has specifically mentioned his impact on him.

Yes, but Sturridge said "If it wasn't for that meddlesome tosser from Sky, I'd be the top goalscorer in the Premiership!"

One forumite will be very happy!

Has he inherited dad's 'huge lung capacity'?
  • VO2 max comes from the mother, I assume lung capacity is tied in their somehow...

Interestly, JV cites this as the reason for recruiting Dan Martin instead of Nico Roche!
  • Not a transfer, but a retirement - Timmy Duggan

Fair play to the fella - even for a pros he's had more than his fair share of bad luck and injuries
  • Sojasun bailing on their smaller team and joining Cannondale...

That's just a publicity stunt by some minor Aussie team.

Meanwhile, Cobo signs for Torku Seker Spor (that well known haven of clean riders).

Seriously, you couldn't make it up
  • A Norwegian eighth division side made an offer for Beckham earlier this year...

Movistar has folded according to that quote.

Legit rider on a legit team. What could possibly go wrong, sudden return to form at the Tour of Turkey anyone?
