If the new 'Trek' team drops down from WorldTour then Trek will not be represented at all in the WorldTour (bikewise). How times have changed.

Wow...is that the only team with a trek bike? How times have changed indeed.

Not a transfer (before anyone points that out) but a signing....

Lasse Norman Hansen, the 2012 Olympic Omnium Champ, to Garmin

    Gonna be a star, him.

I think Garmin beat some big teams to get that signing.

Bloody strong lad. I was in the Olympic velodrome last Aug when he crashed in the scratch race. We all thought that was it for his chances but he chased back on somehow and finished 6th, before going on to win the gold.

On a serious note I do think Cancellara should move form Trek, the team is just not up to his quality.

Won both danish U-23 championships last week as well. Knowing how much Garmin like these kind of diesel riders I think it's a perfect match.

    Will Henao go with Uran?

Before this season I'd have said probably yes, they seemed joined at the hip. I'd imagine it would have been fairly solitary as a Colombian in the European peloton.

But now I'd probably say no, they'll do their own thing. Henao could still ride with Sky and not be too isolated, you can't move in a race now for a promising Colombian.

Henao has apparently re-signed with Sky for 3 years.

Sergio Henao new deal has been reportedly signed with Sky & is for 3yrs. Sources in Columbia say he had offer from Garmin (via @PARbelaezR )

OK, so all this leads one to ask who at Sky isn't having their contract renewed?

Jonathan Lovelock, Nearle's teammate, says that the transfer was sealed last Friday but the announcement had to be delayed by the Sky media dept because of the Wiggins Froome handbags. Sniggerworthy.

He did say on another forum that there was news pending on Wednesday itself.

Interesting question, unlike a couple of years ago, Sky have very little dead wood in their squad now.

When Bri Smith was on his twitter tear on Sat night, he claimed that Stannard's declined a new contract and wants to move on, presumably to a proper classics squad. Uran rumoured to be departing for guaranteed TdF team leadership next year.

Re others....Mystic Meg gets out crystal ball...maybe following in possible departure lounge:

    CJ Sutton
    Ben Swift
    Mat Hayman
    Gabriel Rasche

    2 years

EDIT: think he might be released a year early by mutual agreement as its not working out so far? He's not happy, is he, though Big Maggy reckons he needs a year to adjust

Oh, and also Henao's reported to be bringing a new Colombian team mate to Sky...

No matter how strong, they're going to want a bit of a churn at the middle to bottom of their roster every year.

They already have 2 (3?) spots available.
    Uran maybe off.
Puccio's contract is up. I'm sure they want to keep him, but will someone offer him more chances?

Most interested to see if the sign an actual sprinter. Swifty has had his injury woes this year, but maybe even he needs a strong end to the year.

Rendell has hinted a couple of times about Chamorro. He'd make sense for sure.

On Nearle again, wonder what type of rider he'll be made into. He's a good climber, though I don't think he's quite as good as Dyball or as promising as Jack Haig, and he's been good on short steep slopes and is decent in an uphill sprint. Won this mental stage in Japan but didn't really feature on the Fuji climb road race and did well behind the bloody dodgy Nippo team in Kumano. Still good enough to win Toowoomba, mind.

Then again, given Froome won the equivalent stage in the Tour of Japan in 2007, he should be a TdF podium rider in 2017.

O'Grady extends his contract till he requires a colostomy bag, and will retire after the TdF.

GE could do worse than completely depend on the AIS for their young signings. Very TT and sprint oriented. Could've used with a climber and missed an Aussie in each of the past two years.

Still on Sky, I'd be surprised if they didn't find a way to shoehorn Simon Yates on board for next year as well.
They're clearly going to have to shift some riders out to make room.
