Looks like Rigo did something in the tunnel to take out the opposition.

Uran Uran going on the attack! Brilliant. Now no Sky riders on the front of the group; what does that mean for Wiggins?

What benefit would he have by riding in 4th? At this speed 4th or 24th makes little difference.

So when the 23rd placed rider starts to lose the wheel of the 22nd one you don't have to put in the energy to close the gap, or to be better positioned when one of the other GC riders attack.

At that point no-one was getting dropped. It was all bunched together like they were on the flat. When Cataldo upped the pace, he moved forward with Henao.

If Uran hadn't lost a minute nursing Wiggins this would be more dangerous.

If there are a couple of unlit tunnels shortly before the steep section, as reported, maybe in one of them might also be a good place for someone who’s familiarised himself with the road to attack?

Tiralongo is ill I think. Or else he would have his race face strapped and huge calves pumping at the front of the peloton, his jersey unzippe, his chain swaying and his glasses perched on top of his head.

Uran's been sitting last in the Sky train all day. Gaunyersel my boy.

Wiggans sitting 5th or 6th wheel in the bunch.

TBH I missed the attack and when I looked up I thought he had been dropped he was so calm. Proper Sky school of riding. How do they do it.

Presume he can't be going that bad or they wouldn't be sending their back-up GC guy up the road with a big bunch behind and nobody riding.

It means that Uran has attacked so that Sky can force somebody else to work and Wiggins can just sit there and follow. No point attacking with one rider, and chasing him down with another of your team.

    Are you seriously asking?
They just sit in and let others do the chasing.
astana will not panic yet but cannot afford to loose too much or Uran will be a major threat and then they will have more trouble in next stages if two sky rider close at top of leader board.

The contrast between Uran's and Agnoli's facial expressions is amazing. Feel for Agnoli - looks like that really hurts.
