Got to go.......I'll predict the last segment

J-Rod hangs on until near the top then outpaces everyone except Armstrong who has pedalled across a field having switched bikes with some poor bastard on the ground whose racing days are over, but is beaten at the line by a Sagan Hushovd Froome threesome in chest-banging triumph.

    Wiggins looking weak.

He just went back to the car and then cruised back up. He's fine.

He's been there for 25 km.

Going the same speed as everyone else, and sheltered.

Wait and see if he's weak.

About 35–40 guys in that peloton now.

10 kms to go. Gradient steepening soon (from about 8km to go).

Anyone know if this colimb ramps up something serious? Something enough to blow Sky`s domestiques out the water so we can get some mano a mano, some indivudual talent?

If he was feeling rough, Sky wouldn't be lining it out.

    Obviously not. It's still odd.

Well I just missed the last 20 minutes due to a power cut at work. Back up and running, but loads of stuff I need to work offline still.

I am going to have to head off to a meeting soon. I'll probably still be able to update you as to where Wiggins is better than Quigley though.

What benefit would he have by riding in 4th? At this speed 4th or 24th makes little difference.

Must be pretty sure no one is going to spin off the front.

Sanchez hanging off the back again. Nibali looking good. Sacponi, Evans and Santambrogio have been conserving a lot of energy.

Silly as it is to say this but they really do ride really, really quickly! You could really see it when they were riding alongside that wall there.

So when the 23rd placed rider starts to lose the wheel of the 22nd one you don't have to put in the energy to close the gap, or to be better positioned when one of the other GC riders attack.

good tactic & making Astana work for it
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
