A big group has joined from behind including Di Luca and Samu. Don`t see Hesjedal in it.

It's a beautiful part of the world. The Slovenian side of the border is also stunning. Some really good riding with very quiet roads.

I hope we see a GC ding dong rather than a 1km drop off.

I have never seen Wiggins attack (sub 1km not included). And would LOVE to see him attack. Allez Wiggo.

Do you not recall his 190km lone break in the 2007 Tour?

Oh yes. But even you would agree comparing him now to then is not something that is possible.

    Even me?

I do agree. But my inner pedant wouldn't let it lie.

Wow! Quite the drop for him from last year. Form? Illness? Other riders just being better?

If he's in a small group or on his own he's also going to lose time to the big group on the flatter parts of the descent and climb, let alone the leg-breaking steep bit.

    Ryder's Giro is over :(

The final climb will be interesting!!! Can Wiggo drop Nibi? ....I doubt it, but would like to be proved wrong!

Wiggins looking weak. But surely he wouldn't have 3 guys in front if so.

Dont look like anyone is going to attack here either by the sounds of it. Has the breakaway group been caught yet?

DQ calling Wiggins as in 3rd place. He is not!!! Then DQ says he has just dropped back. He has not been at the front for 20 minutes!

Vini have three, Astana four and Sky four. Scarponi has one or two as does Gesink.

Yes, David Harmon can't come back soon enough in my view.

I am going to have to head off to a meeting soon. I'll probably still be able to update you as to where Wiggins is better than Quigley though.

If he was feeling rough, Sky wouldn't be lining it out.
