Declan Quigley and Sean Kelly joking about the possibility of the stage being cancelled due to the downpour. King Kelly says "It's not tennis here".

Damn right it's not. You tell 'em, Sean!

Back on the sartorial criticism again.

I'm not a fan of the darker shading on the seat part, around the chamois, of the Vini Fantini bibs. It makes them look like they've had an accident.

Amazing that Sky are still the only team in the peloton using powermeters.

Anyway... think today is a day to just watch the last 15 minutes of the stage.

They aren't are they? I'm sure I've seen loads of different teams using SRM over the last 3-4 years.

    Wat lekker weer!

    Nice out isn't it.

As an aside, does anyone else find Quigley a bit annoying. His insistence on converting kms to miles is one thing that is grating with me. It may be that I'm not used to him and he just needs to bed in.

He keeps calling it "Giro D'Italia 13" too. He hasn't once said "The Giro"

He's not going down too well with some of the pros watching, either....

The miles thing is annoying, it's like saying "Oooh look at my maths skills!"

    Someone should refer him:

The conversion to miles suggests we're parochial outsiders, who don't feel comfortable with how it's measured over there. Maybe he's a UKIP supporter.

Organisers confirmed they are considering what they need to do Re the finish, but weather reports suggest the rain is moving away in plenty of time for them resolve any issues without needing to change the race route.

No need for the riders to know from their DSs about the weather at the finish, is there...

Suggestion that rain is about to hit the riders pretty soon, cue photo ops of riders with feet off pedals if its this heavy downpour.

Doh, Tell me please but is that a 18.5 MPH sign you have there.
You see that when I'm driving over there I have to do the conversions to stay legal.

It looks like Sky's decision to hire a coach from swimming may pay off today. Basso will probably drown though.

Rains too much in Italy. More than other EU countries it seems. At least when they are cycling. TA had about 6 rainy stages.

Do you not have kmph also listed on your speedo? Serious question as I've only ever driven cars that have both listed. Totally off topic but I have a nerdy fascination with this sort of stuff. I could tell you all about how various countries' car registration systems work if you've got the time... :D
