Sorry for the idiotic question but I can't find the answer online. Do Voodoo do anything smaller than a 17'' frame in their mountain (not dirt bike) range?0
-
Yes the Hoodoo and Bantu come in a 16"
low stock however0 -
Thank you Pnev! ok the hunt is on.0
-
After not riding a bike in nearly ten years I have ordered a Hoodoo which I'm picking up tomorrow
Only slight concern is with sizing. I used to ride a 97 Kona hahanna with an 18 inch frame, but having sat on the 18 inch Hoodoo in the shop it felt a little cramped reach wise! They didn't have a 20 inch in stock for me to try but I ordered anyway thinking that at 5'11 it should be okay, and I can always get a shorter stem/wider bars if this one feels a bit long. I'm not sure if I made the right decision now though :?
In any case, I'm looking forward to getting fit, back in the saddle and on the trails again!0 -
A bit of an update:
2010 Rockshox Revelations (120-150 U-Turn Air)
Superstar XC-430 Wheels (20mm axle up front)
Deore M615 Brakes front and back (180mm/160mm)
Deore FC-M590 Chainset
9 speed XT rear mech
LX front mech
Conti Mountain Kings
Charge Spoon
Saint pedals
Mondraker bars
70mm Planet X Stem
Wheels and forks have made a noticeable difference, wheels spin up a lot quicker and the forks are nice and plush (though I'm pretty sure the Suntours had never been serviced and I've just done a full service on the Revs)
At 120mm:

That's looking tasty
Glad I'm not the only one upgrading a Bantu, will post a pic of mine over the next few days (awaiting adaptor to fit front brake)0 -

Be interesting to see how the spec lands actually, I'm considering using cycle2work in the new year and was stuck between the on-one parkwood and the boardman team FS....0 -

The new Bizango looks more trail orientated and very much like the Packwood.0 -
yeah, it looks alright, not keen on the colour though0

Personally I am not so keen on the new Voodoos but would have welcomed the 2x10 that is fitted to the latest Bizango.
Here is my Bizango in it's current state and you can find more details about it here:http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12955667

I need to buy a replacement tyre having slashed open the rear Ardent during a local ride, the Beaver is currently filling in.0 -
Nice looking bike Darryl and good move with the Rebas, I was thinking of doing something similar but couldn't get around the tapered steerer issue, could you link me to the Hope lower cup you've used?
I'm glad I bought a Bizango last year, the current ones are rather unpleasant on the eyes :shock:Current fleet

Thank you for the kind comments. The Hope bottom cup I used was a Type H and thankfully the height of the cup hasn't thrown the Voodoo's ability to climb out of whack, which I was slightly cautious about.

I'm not a Voodoo owner yet but I thought this would be the best place to ask. I'm considering buying a Voodoo Bizango 2015 from Halfrauds, since the 2014 model received such rave reviews. I'd look at the 2014 model but personally prefer the colour of the newer model. Anybody else on here purchased one yet? I'm no newbie to mountain biking, I owned a Carrera Kraken 2014 for little over 12 months and loved it. Took it around Cannock chase a few times and also did a fair bit of cross country type riding. Unfortunately the Carrera was stolen a few weeks back and I'm sourcing a replacement. I also own a Specialied Allez road bike and originally I was looking at a Specialized mtb but the price is a little steep and tbh the Voodoo's seem a lot more value for money. I went to look at the new Hoodoo in blue as they are the same frame as the Bizango, but next to eachother in the store I preffered the Bizango.
So just looking for anybody with a new Bizango if they can give me any feedback and pros/cons about the bike. Also it would be my first 29er. Thanks"Great minds think a bike"0 -
Got this for a steal price off eBay today

Nice to see a 2015 Bizango added to the thread and I will look forward to your thoughts on how the bike rides as I am yet to see any rider opinion or reviews.0

I'm waiting to take it to cannock for a proper ride so I can get a better idea of how it rides. I'm not the most experienced mountain biker and do a mixture of light trails and cross country riding. I'm more of a roadie at the moment and having not ridden a mountain bike on a trail in over 12 months this bike feels a little foreign to me right now. My old mtb that was stolen was a 26" and this being my first 29er is a new experience again. But I can give you my initial impressions from a few minutes riding in the woods this afternoon (before the storm came)but it would be unfair to comment in too much detail as I've only had a handful of minutes on it as yet.
The ground was moist with plenty of tree roots which I did have a few skids on and I know most tyres would slide around on these anyway but I do seem to be favouring the Continental mountain kings I had on my old Carrera over the Maxxis Ardents currently on the bike as these were faultless in terms of grip. Also I shall be changing the pedals to something more grippy in the future as I did find these were quite slippery and bashed my shin on landing a jump. I've also moved the shifters a little closer to the centre about an inch as I felt there wasn't quite enough room for my thumbs when holding the grips. The brakes are new so will need bedding in but the stopping power did improve over the course of the ride and feel as though they will be adequate stoppers for my riding style. These are the negatives I picked up on but as I say I was only able to ride a few minutes round local woodland due to weather so I won't be considering any upgrades to seriously just yet.
It is however easy to see even for me a fairly inexperienced mtb'er, how this bike has achieved such positive reviews as soon as you hit a downhill section. The 29 wheels with the fast rolling ardents allow it to really take off down the trail effortlessly with a much smoother ride than on my old 26", whilst still relaying a good amount of feedback from the terrain and avoids the feeling of being dejected from the trail. Also after setting the sag to my body weight the Suntour air fork does a great job of cushioning out any of the harsher lumps and bumps, and initially feels to be a big improvement over the coil sprung Suntour XCR on my previous bike. I will be looking at playing around with the rebound settings at cannock but I had it on the lowest setting for this ride.
That's about as much honest unbiased feedback I can give for now until I hit a proper trail centre, overall the positives far outway the minor criticism I have early on about the bike but these could still be rectified after a proper ride."Great minds think a bike"0 -
Just picked up a new 2015 Bizango tonight. Looks great, never had a 29er before so the wheels look absolutely HUGE!!!! But a quick ride shows it has really nice manners. ALl for the princely sum of £480 - seems a bargain so can't wait to try it out around Nant Yr Arian0

Hello. In new here !
Got both the 2014 and 2015 bizango.
Loving the new bike, a.though still gravitating towards the 2014 as it's such a fun ride.
Not a massive difference between the two of them, forks, wheels, tyres the same. New one is slightly lighter, great colour and 20 speed gear set. Both are sweet rides.
Selling my 2014 if anyone if anyone is interested.0 -

How much did you pay ? Had mine for 540 from Alford's. ( 10% off weekend )0 -
Just bought a second hand Bizango 2014 model , first time on a 29er , does feel a little weird such large wheels but on the one short ride I have had so far I'm liking it , once you get it rolling its flies, seems to have real momentum.
Can't wait to try it out on my local trails.
Just wondered if anyone has tried or can Manual their Voodoo bizango ?
had a little go in the yard and seems hard to get the front wheel up, thinking as well as working on my technique! I could put a shorter stem on or riser bars or both to move the centre of gravity back, any thoughts anyone ?0 -
