After a nervous start race, seven riders have managed a few meters ahead. It is G. Izagirre (3 - Euskaltel - Euskadi), Egoi Martinez (6 - Euskaltel - Euskadi), Schleck (41 - RadioShack), Vorganov (71 - Katusha), Roche (95 - Saxo - Tinkoff), Vanendert (137 - Lotto) and Preidler (168 - Argos - Shimano)

    Edit: Back together again.

Txurruka not in the break shocker!

Velits (Omega), Vorganov (Katusha), Montaguti (AG2R), Ratto (Cannondale) and Taramae (Cofidis) with 2'20" after 52km.

Velits lost 1.49 yday. In form and a decent rider.

Rein was supposed to be a really handy rider a couple of years ago. He is smoked on GC this race.

    Break at 5mins after 85km

Early Prediction: Andy Schleck attacks on todays final climb.

Would love to see that, unlikely though.

A Tour with Contador, Froome and Schleck all in form and going for it would be superb.

Early Prediction: Andy Schleck attacks on todays final climb.

Would be good to see that if only to silence his critics
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

If Velits holds out that would be great. He can TT very well also.

Possibly but have heard quite a few different versions though. Sure it will all come out soon enough though.

Guess we will see who works on this climb coming up. If Sky sit back will anyone else take it up Saxo, Astana?

Could be a repeat of yesterday but only 1 rider seem to want to go for it & was that race practice or a genuine attack yesterday?

Just watching the weather get worse further up this climb, could make for an interesting descent.

These Basque fans are always out in ridiculous force but are respectful of the riders.
