    Wiggo Attack! :D

Shortlived, decimated the main bunch though.

Attacking with 1km to go is negative panache.

They could have designed the last 12km completely flat and I would have said 'go for it'...

He made it about 5 yards up the road!
Quintana went again. Followed by Valverde and J-Rod. Wiggins back on the wheels.

Quintana wins! Few seconds over the other three.

I call BS. Made the selection and now has some time gaps. Good move, shame dirty valverde got second.

Interesting that Wiggins shut down J-Rod's attempt to do his usual.

Yep. I was being pretty sarcastic. Tactically a decent move though, on what could have been a dangerous stage.

Making a mockery of mountain stages. What a total joke. All the riders.

Basically turning mountains into TT rides then sprints. With the inevitable Valverde and JRod spurt of speed which is getting very tiring.

So boring, so lacking in flair.

Duff stage but I blame the organisers.

Do we need finishes like this in March? Perhaps something shorter and more punchy.

Last 1km was enjoyable (apart from Piti, obvs)

Wiggins on the attack in the mountains...priceless...

Erm...anyone else thinking Hesjedal's left it a tad late for the Giro?

Not looking pretty, but he was in very average form in this race last year too.

    I hate this quote.

Riding like this has nothing to with being clean or being doped.

And this is the other interesting thing (beyond the Sisyphean argument that is the panache/boring mountain stage argument that will never be resolved) along with Wiggin's attack and neutralising of J-Rod to take from today's stage.

In short, yes, he seems to have left it too late. Although he could have been having a bad day, but he hasn't really shown himself at all. He missed the split in stage 1 and today, he was way way down.

He's started his season 2 months later than he did last year. No idea what the thinking is...unless its sand-bagging and really his main focus is the Tour not the Giro.
