Award of the Week for Useless and Ignorant Journalism, goes to Sky Sports News for their article on FW, with this opener:
'World Cup frustration continued for Lizzie Armitstead as she had to settle for second place in La Fleche Wallonne Feminine. The Briton was denied victory by French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, meaning a third successive runner-up placing in the women's classic series'

Was not really a big surprise, they discuss all sorts of sports and in the end 5live is the least high profile of the BBC's national media that cover sport. ...also, there's a lot of British girls doing rather well lately.0 -

Women's Tour of Britain starts on Wednesday, highlights 9pm on ITV4 each evening.
Unfortunately I can't get out of work to watch the race finish in Bedford. Jnr is going with his school though.0 -
Disappointed that there is no live feed but acorns -> trees
Would be great if this became one of the biggest stage races for women in the calendar.
Also great to see so many quality British cyclists involved. Sadly no Jo Rowsell
Would be great to see a home win.0 -

Vos has got to be a favourite although the course should suit Armistead. Too flat for Pooley I think. Maybe Emma Johansson? Bronzini for the points.BASI Nordic Ski Instructor

Didnt realise Wiggins was basically funding the Wiggle team with his own money.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... ggins.html
R Gillmore also put in 500k of her own money - sizeable investment and not sure how she got that money given women's cycling doesnt pay?Contador is the Greatest0 -
Quick mention for the Tour of Chongming Island World Cup race. Not much info coming through, but this round has been won by Kirsten Wild (Giant-Shimano). No placings as yet, in fact the only info available seemed to be coming from Rochelle Gilmore, tweeting from the Wiggle Team car!
@PelotonWatch: 5 rounds of the Women's World Cup and 5 different winners.0 -
Tour of Chongming provisional:
1 Kirsten Wild (Giant Shinano)
2 Elena Cecchini (Estado de México-Faren Kuota)
3 Giorgia Bronzini (Wiggle Honda)
Just for info, the overall leader Lizzie Armitstead and numbers two and three Emma Johansson and Anna van der Breggen did not travel to China. Despite this, there are no overall changes at the top of the leader board.
Edit - Updated rankings now available.

2 hours later and the full result for this round (according to Peloton Watch) is out. Here is the top 10. Looks like the flat course meant that the whole peloton came together for a final sprint.

I'm off to Paris in a few days time, so planning my trip. Got my times for the Tour's arrival. Trying to find some info (namely timings) for La Course. Really struggling. Can't find mention on ASO or leTour sites. In fact apart from "ASO announce a new race..." statements on various bicyclist sites no up to date info. In fact Frenchie's poster on this thread has more detailed info than I have found elsewhere. As my google fu is clearly lacking, any links would be most appreciated.
All resolved found this:-

From Inner Ring's preview of S21, this little nugget about La Course.
TV: note the late finish, expected for 7.20pm Euro time or two hours later than usual. But tune in early for La Course, the women’s race. I was going to do a separate preview but cyclingtips has everything and more. The women race between 12.50pm and 2.45pm, it’ll be on the same channel you’ve been watching the Tour and should feature live footage from on-bike cams too....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere but it looks like Specialized and Lululemon Athletica are not renewing their sponsorship from next season. It looks like Velociosports are turning to crowdfunding to find half their budget. See here for further details: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/project-x--13
I dunno, if one of the biggest women's teams has to resort to what kinda feels more like charity than sponsorship to fund its activities then this can't be good for the sport.
Perhaps I am a bit of a doom goblin when it comes to women's cycling, but after people have been banging on about how good La Course was for women, I was not expecting to see this…0
