The cranks pretty good - stiff, reasonable q-factor, simple pinch bolt design. I'll be ditching the q-rings I think.0

Relatively up-to-date picture, I use it on dry-ish days in the winter too.

Serious question, why don't people ride their carbon bikes all year round or even in the wet, its not like they shrink.0

What would you then do with your winter bike?0 -
Because most of them can only have crappy Crud or clip on guards fitted. That and the fact the salt, grit and water will wear out the top end components fitted to most peoples Summer bikes. That's why having a Winter beater is economical. It's heavier, gets you fitter can take proper guards and will have cheaper parts that you won't mind replacing when the wear out quickly.Ribble Stealth/SRAM Force
2007 Specialized Allez (Double) FCN - 30 -
If people want two bikes thats fine, but are these components that fragile that they corrode with a bit of rain, ive had bikes for years without proper maintanence and not corroded.
Its just a shame to see nice bikes just sat there not being used much and then probably sold on in a couple of years for another new one.0 -
I'd rather have one bike to wash than 5, so just call me lazy.0

in summer mode.
in winter mode the wheels / tyres / cassette change (for mavic cxp 33, conti 4 seasons, 12-28). And I put on some lights and a discreet saddlebag.0 -

It's not shrinking that's the issue. It's the melting. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I do use it in winter - but not in the wet - not because of melting but because I don't want to put a mud guard on it!
needs better wheels!0 -

Personally I love the way that about £8-10k worth of bike is not propped up properly in what looks a bit like an alley. (Guess it's your abode AP111, sorry about the alley comment, but better spend your money on carbon than weed killer)

I do - I have a carbon Ribble Gran Fondo - similar geometry, mostly same groupset as the Look and I use it year round including commuting every day. Nice to have something without mudguards for the 3 dry weekends per yearHouseMunkey wrote:
