Does Kyle Walker being in the England squad belong in the things that annoy you thread?

No. F*** the England football team and its Brexit voting, knuckle dragging supporters.

That skier who qualified for the Olympic halfpipe who can't do any tricks. At all.

She managed scores of 30 which is amazingly high considering. The scoring really punishes a fall. It doesn't cheer me up though as I found it somewhat embarrassing.

    For who?

The sport. It shows up the complete lack of depth in the competition - she was able to consistently finish top 30 by entering events with fewer than 30 contestants.

I'm also amazed that people would crowd fund what was essentially a skiing holiday.

Seeing a droid texting on their phone walk straight into a great big red pillar box. Maybe I can understand missing a lamp post, but how can anyone have so little awareness of where they going. Surprised they did not try and sue the post office for putting it there. Still, cheered me up (and a few others by the grins on their faces).

Elise Christie and even more so the BBC getting all upset everytime she falls over / gets DQd.

even better is when everybody lines up to say how mentally tough she is whilst she is being carried off sobbing uncontrollably.

This, and that she was disqualified for obviously blocking/trying to push over/keep herself up by pushing a fellow racer

Another thing that cheered me up, watching the dead heat in the bobsleigh between the Germans and Canadians (I think?), it was cool to see them leap over and celebrate with members of the other team straight away

There's no circumflexing around the argument that he got the accent wrong and he's obviously homophonic.

It's dreadfully sad. Now the only option is to spend way more than necessary on a professional saw that I definitely need for the odd fallen tree/fire wooding

It makes me feel like I actually work in forestry rather than drive about in a pickup shouting at things...

Because everyone has to suffer endless Shute in the papers about how great england are and they are going to beat everyone and in the case of this game endless pictures of their rugbyists running up hills with weights and all that..

The media actually fails to realise a) we don't care and b) we don't like English sports team.

  • Fair enough.

If you were talking about the media and football I would be inclined to agree with you, but at least the rugby team has had some success in living memory

Agree re success but if I read/hear about bloody Eddy Jones making his BLOODY team the fittest in the world or how England’s no 9 is their world dreaded enforcer and the hardest man in the universe (even more so, allegedly than Chuck Norris and He Man combined) then I’ll scream. There are other - and better - national teams in the British Isles.

As for the footballerists - well, say no more.
