I always carry mine while cycling for example. 🤞that it's not required.Pross said:Yeah, every 10 years since they brought in the photocard licence. I did have the old paper one until either I got my first house or moved to my current place and had to renew. The photocard comes in really useful as a ready source of ID if needed though. Part of my recent panic is that I'm flying to Edinburgh in a few weeks and whilst no passport is needed some approved photo ID is and both my driving licence and passport expire before I travel. It was unlikely I'd get a new passport in time at whilst it looks like you can use one up to 5 years after it expires from the Easyjet website for this purpose I didn't want to risk it.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I once flew to / from Edinburgh using my works ID badge. Got to Stansted and discovered I'd left the passport at home. Thought I'd ask the question before abandoning completely; surprised when they said OK0

I once went to France having taken my wife’s passport instead of my own. Fortunately French customs never bothered to ask to see it on the entry to France. I got mine sent out to me for the return journey back to UK as UK customs are usually a bit more vigilant.0

Ordered new wheelie bin last night (around 10pm) and a repair to the recycling one.
Delivered about 9:15 this morning.

Gosh, you must be young. My last licence was issued in 1992 when I moved house, and I'll next need to renew it in 2034.Pross said:Applied for my driving licence renewal on Saturday. The online process was really simple and the DVLA claimed they expected it to be issued within 14 days. Knowing the issues the DVLA have doing their job I took that with a pinch of salt and was a bit worried as I'd left it later than I should have to apply but then I received the new licence in the post today. Is this a record for a Government agency? Even better is I as able to use the photo from my current passport which also expires this month so I look 10 years younger!

Pesky bloody teenagers, don't they know how they're supposed to behave? Had a group of 3 girls blocking a gate I was trying to get through, 2 of them apologised and moved aside, the third held the gate open for me. A short while later 2 young lads taking up the whole path, 1 walking the other wobbling side to side on his bike. Before I had a chance to ring my bell or say anything the one on foot saw me and warned his mate, who promptly moved aside and said sorry.
I find most kids are fine, as with any other groups there's a minority of idiots.0 -

I was glad that I took heed of the advice not to replace my paper version when offered the new card... it was daft at the time anyway, as you still needed to carry the paper counterpart for the card to be valid.0 -

To bankrupt them, I guess, as well as putting the frighteners on others who might seek to monetise mass shootings so shamelessly.0 -

Bankruptcy won't discharge this debt, so it's his life now.0

I did not say England was the best. I have been to lots of countries but only as a tourist. I have never lived in another. From what I have seen on TV there are billions of people who have sh3t lives compared to me and there are thousands queuing up in Calais to get here. So where is better to work and live ?Pross said:

Downside: wtf in the so-called modern world does one have to remember to do so...
This is a sh£t country, isn't it.1 -

Your comment was “ When you find a better one please let us know about it.‘ That suggests you were sceptical that there is one better one. Anecdotally the likes of the Scandi nations and NZ are generally considered good places to live and the UK doesn’t fare very well amongst developed nations but that could just be we are a bunch of whingers never happy about what we’ve got.lesfirth said:
