This should be on a cross thread.

Getting through without wet feet or hitting a pothole.

Did you manage it 3 times in a row? 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Ah. Thought it was photo run, back for the camera, and on your way.
Slightly less impressive but still 👏👏

Or Danny McKaskill. And yes, I did actually have that in mind, as well as dredging my memory for this bit of road in the dry.

I think we did this some time ago, but Apple cave in to the EU on USB-C connectors.

    https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/oct/26/iphone-usb-c-lightning-connectors-apple-eu-rules

Defenders of the Lightning connector have cited its smaller size, and the vast array of Lightning-based adapters and accessories owned by users around the world. The need to replace those cables could lead to a spike in e-waste, despite the stated goal of the regulation being to reduce discarded electronics.

Now, Apple’s head of marketing, Greg “Joz” Joswiak, says the company is conceding defeat. “Obviously we’ll have to comply, we have no choice,” he told a technology conference in California.

Having just had to buy a new laptop because a single pin on the charging socket of the old laptop has bent (I think)...I have to say I'm even more behind this that I was before!

The e-waste claim could be a legitimate (but short term) point were lightning cables not so flaky they need replacement more than other cables.

Non-apple variants seem incredibly unreliable meaning there is actually increased waste.

It may be a good product on paper…

A nice hot coffee. Just a little cooler than the point where you can only sip it, but well above the point of taking mouthfuls.

Not so much as cheer up as just mildly amused me but.

One of the subsections on the BikeRadar main page about the upcoming Netflix TdF series is titled:

"What is the Tour de France Netflix documentary about?"

    Answers on a postcard please.

Apparently though (spoiler alert) its not about the Giro. Big surprise there.

Just catched up on Filippo Ganna's hour world record from earlier this month. 👍

He's 1cm shorter than me, but 2kg lighter than I've ever been as a fit adult. Did I miss out an opportunity all those years back? 😊

Getting the all clear from the consultant after an MRI scan on my lower back and spine. Turns out the very painful 2 week episode last month was nothing more than a pulled muscle and there's nothing else to worry about.

He even spotted the section of my lower back which gave me a dose of sciatica nearly 20 years back and said it was unlikely to bother me again. And to top it all off, I should be fine to go skiing this season :)

Drama Queen getting an MRI for that

Reminds me of when I got my back x-rayed for what turned out to be a herniated disc, the chiropractor said that if he'd just been sent the x-ray he would have assumed it belonged to someone in their 60s (I was mid-30s at the time!)

I suspect it was ar$e covering by the consultant. He was 99% sure it was a muscle pull (and with hindsight he was right) but I guess you never know. I'm not too bothered, it cost me nothing: I do seem to be getting my moneys worth out my BUPA cover though, which also cheers me up

Glad it was just a pulled muscle. My dad's mystery ache turned out to be myeloma, which finished him off eventually, so good that they checked thoroughly.

Exactly, not sure what my premiums would look like if I were paying myself - looking at it from the point of view of someone who's had 2 MRIs, 4 appointments with consultants either side of the MRIs and multiple physio sessions in the last year.
