Tooth hurty. 🤣The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Speed is only a concern if you are racing.pinno said:It was a dig at Blakey's speed but never mind.

There is a minimum speed that one needs to travel at on a velocipede below which, you will not stay upright.pblakeney said:

...and even if you only went at 4mph, your speed would be 4mph.
So bollox to your odd connection between 'speed' and 'racing' and bollox to your pedantry sir.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Haha. A clever dodge of US right-wing cancel culture. Spot the moment when the penny drops with the audience... too late to turn off his mic by then.

Good at picking his battles and rated (correctly) his ability to keep his lads going.
Anyway this particular battle was a very very large ambush which resulted in 10-1 loss ratio against the Romans (as in, the Romans lost 10 soldiers for every one Carthaginian) - pretty good.
Apparently they were so successful afterwards the soldiers stopped looting as they couldn’t carry anymore, so complete was the victory.0 -
Not the guy that ate people then? I was told to see things that appear to be classical references in the context of films from the last century.surrey_commuter said:

Well he can add one by using a TV programme from the last century rather than a film. General Lee wasn't always a car in the Dukes of Hazard. There are loads of famous Civil War generals and (I think) 13 US presidents held a rank of General at some point.surrey_commuter said:

I think you are using a too restricted definition of "General" as most people would class Kutuzov as a generalTheBigBean said:

A quick google does reveal a more broad definition of the term is used by some on the internet.surrey_commuter said:

Apparently, all of the following count as generals: Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, William the Conqueror, Genghis Khan, Francis Drake, Oliver Cromwell, Horatio Nelson and Mao Zedong.
Not sure I understand how a pirate/privateer such as Sir Francis is included. Also, many seem to be the equivalent of knowing Hitler and not Rommel which was my original point.

Used to know an (AFL) footballer here who was 6’7”. His girlfriend had a Fiat 500 with a sunroof. He used to drive it by taking the front seat out, sit on the back bench and head out the roof too.JimD666 said:
