  • This will look great in the airports around the world.

The £900k was a bargain considering the amount of free media coverage this got :)

Yes, I can think of few companies that better show the benefits of a single market more than Airbus.

And if they need to sell it, BA won't even have to give it a full respray.

I think it looks rather fetching. Would also make a good prop for the next Austin Powers movie.

The current Air Force One... It sits quite nicely with the new design.

Why can't Boris have a 2 seater Sesna - one seat for him and one seat for the pilot?

So the previous neutral colour scheme was so that it was fit for purpose for it’s day job?

    Yes.

I think the story is a bit odd though as I think the plane was up for a D check which explains why it had to be done at all.

Realising that I/we have a weekender accommodation booked for West Vlaanderen inc the Sunday when the rescheduled Gent Wevelgem is on. Well played organiser pal, even if just a happy coincidence. That's the Sunday activities sorted.

Just need the "traffic lights" 😳 to stay green.

I thought traffic lights were always green for cyclists? :)

It is an air to air refueling plane not a stealth bomber. If it is close enough to get shot down then your flight plan was poorly derived.

Before and after pictures. A very nice update and appropriate for our PM or monach when it is called into service for them.

Don’t tell me, you need to tell the RAF as they are the ones who own the plane and painted it in the colour scheme that suited their purposes and have said they can change it back when the need arises.

A job swap between a luxury personal jet and air to air refuelling is not obvious at first glance.

Probably not trivial but I am both pleased and surprised that there is now potentially a mechanism to reduce the scourge of misinformation.
I am genuinely surprised it is the markets that are delivering this mechanism but Facebook is being told that there are consequences to passively allowing your platform to spread lies.

Very boring for everyone else but my fitness was probably the lowest it's ever been as an adult in January, after a year of basically not doing any exercise and then a stay in hospital.

Anyway, after lots of grim turboing sessions during the height of lockdown I'm now knocking out 27-28kph average hillyish rides for 60-70km and have a decent turn of speed over 30s-3 minutes too - basically I'm back at decent fitness, and am seeing improvements all over the place. It feels like quite well rounded cycling fitness.

Long story short; I was very unfit, now i'm not, and all the hard work is paying off.

    hillyish rides

Hang on, remind me where you live? ;)

Seriously though, well done - it's a great feeling when you realise you're going faster, isn't it?

I've been pushing my 50-something body for weeks of lockdown - at this age progress is slow, but real: not only in cycling (first 80k circuit at >29k in years this week) but also other areas - I hadn't been able to do so much as a single chin-up since having my right shoulder smashed by a careless driver in 07 but I'm up to 6 at a time now.

    Nice work.

Yeah hillyish is a bit of a stretch.

    Shears followed by a razor.
Get it all off today. Result!
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

    Err, no.

Have you seen the rides he's been putting up?

He's riding about 3x the distance at a faster average speed...!
