    What does idiom mean?

Is it a synonym of politician?

Not least as the nation state is only really a concept in a way we understand it today in around the middle of the 17th Century (though a little before, but you get the idea).

Not to mention that the vast majority of the various empires are not represented. But it's more that there is so little information displayed yet everyone is gushing over it as if it's the most amazing thing. It's like cats and a laser pointer.
I think a lot of people struggle to visualise the past.
Bit snobby to discount it as being useful, I think. It would be like me ridiculing popular science programmes.

Why not think of it as an interesting and engaging introduction to European history?
I think Cbeebies may have offered more insight into European History.

It just doesn't tell you very much. There's a far better map-based animation that tells a similar story but in much more depth.

Afraid that CBeebies is pitched at enquiring ypung minds, so is a bit too fast paced for a lot of people.

Particularly illustrated when you attend a school meeting for parents and they ask for any questions.

Just off wiki, but gives you an idea how in that the part of the world maps were simultaneously very important and very unimportant

Getting these annoying popup games ads from Microsoft, want to play a sudoku or similar but have to wait for an ad for some other to play out. And today's offering has a banner saying average IQ 85-115. Isn't average IQ number 100? Or is that mode not mean? Can an average be a range of values?

Intelligence distribution is on a bell curve, it's not linear. Most people are of similar intelligence...

  • I saw an episode of Pointless recently where they asked the question "Which city beginning with L was known to the Romans as Londinium? Its present day landmarks include Tower Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral."

78 out of 100 could work it out.

It's not the worst approximation if you can't tolerate or don't want to drink real milk but it's not for me.

It’s OK on cereal, horrible in a hot drink though

Certainly far less protein than real milk
