Quintana's appeal to overturn his disqualification from the TdF has been dismissed by the CAS.

He's clearly looking to covertly take in Barley Water since Robinsons stopped their involvement in tennis.================================

A few triamcinalone busts in the last few days for runners (e.g. the female Boston marathon winner).
That was the drug that Wiggins had a TUE for, wasn't it?2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)

I'd imagine the story would be less positive if it were a cyclist...

Not like athletics hasn't had its reputation dragged through the mud just as much tbf.norrinradd said:I'd imagine the story would be less positive if it were a cyclist...

You wonder how it would be reported if he were Kenyan or Ethiopian rather than Australian…

Full on apologist article that, it's terrible journalism (sorry 'analysis').
I mean what sort of analysis is 'he's a nice guy with charisma so it seems unlikely he'd be a doper'?1 -

The agent (Templeton) has form in this area I think - he was Lagat's agent.0 -
Some humble pie needs to be ordered by some on here after this news:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/feb/14/olympian-peter-bol-says-provisional-doping-suspension-lifted-after-b-sample-exonerates-him0 -
From the article...
"The B sample returned an atypical finding (ATF) for EPO that SIA said required further investigation as per Wada rules, and it would now seek a second opinion from a Wada-accredited laboratory.
“An ATF is not the same as a negative test result,” a statement read."
I believe in cycling terms that means constant hounding and a weekly article from Dan Roan saying 'questions need answering'0 -
That seems a bit ambiguous.andyp said:Some humble pie needs to be ordered by some on here after this news:

Unless there's an error (always possible) in the testing of the A sample, or a mix up, the B should match - they're the same sample, split into A & B at the time of the test.
That is why they have the 2 'samples' from the same test so no-one is damned for a cook-up.
Agree on the ambiguity - could be the levels are borderline? Or one of the samples was mis-handled / stored?0 -
Apparently Conner Benns recently positive drug test in boxing could be down to the excessive consumption of 🥚 you wouldn’t to have been in a confined space with him 💨0

He can still be banned by his licencing body so I don't know what this changes? Can he get an Italian licence and crack on for example?"Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0

That’s the implication of the guardian article, he can’t box in the UK but could elsewhere. What a Joke.gsk82 said:He can still be banned by his licencing body so I don't know what this changes? Can he get an Italian licence and crack on for example?

Not a problem here, with the added bonus we don’t feed our chickens PEDs 🤣RichN95. said:His excuse is undermined by the fact that nobody in Britain get hold of eggs

Both articles are weak in reporting.
What befit is there in Clomiphene ? Why is it banned ?
How much of this is in eggs and how many would you need to take in order to reach that level ?
Seems strange no other boxer has reached this level of Clomiphene before today0 -
They haven't even interviewed his partner to see if his farts have gone rank.================================

Cos he’s a heroic athlete not a dirty doping cyclist, and cricket is a skill based sport so PEDs wouldn’t help anyway 🤣0

Dan? Dan! DAN! Where are you Dan Roan?0

So are "Performance Enabling" drugs (painkillers etc) worse or the same as "Performance Enhancing"
Watching a NRL game the other week and was treated to Cameron Munster suffering a compound fracture of his finger. He had it bandaged up, was given a painkiller or two and carried on playing.
Slightly graphic link: https://7news.com.au/sport/rugby-league/graphic-image-confirms-the-gruesome-extent-of-compound-fracture-in-cameron-munsters-finger-c-9959841
Shouldn't of been allowed to come back out is my personal view, and in general if you need an injection to play, then you shouldn't be playing (or riding)0 -
WADA code:
A substance or method shall be considered for inclusion on the Prohibited List if ....
the substance or method meets any two of the following three criteria:
....has the potential to enhance or enhances sport performance
... Use of the substance or method represents an actual or potential health
risk to the Athlete;
..Use of the substance or method violates the spirit of sport ...
There is little evidence that short term corticosteroids or painkillers enhance performance per se.
Health risk is likely by continuing to use a damaged joint/muscle, when your body is really saying you need to desist
Violates the spirit of the sport? (there is a definition of this too).0 -
Stokes sounds like he's sliding down the same route Flintoff did....0

Just an injection? Nothing in particular then?andyp said:Client journalism.
