Anyone doing the Ride Around London this year?

My usual ride buddy Rick Chasey has abandoned me in favour of some male model... I just can't compete...

Oh cool, I thought I'd been well and truly blown out...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

I quite liked the look of it but £30 seems a bit steeproad0

Is it just me or is the website bad at actually showing the date of the event? What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0
-
I might be up for this, I usually end up doing big rides at the other end of the country! How was it last year?0

I think it's the 30th Sept. Last year it was good, the weather was nice, nice scenery, I think the feed stops were pretty good too. Yeah £30 is pretty expensive for a sportive I suppose but it's London innit...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Looks like London Revolution but shorter as that was 300km, so this must be mainly inside the M25 with occasional sorties outside... anyone got last years route on a GPX?
And no, there is no date...Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0 -
30th Sept - this page has the details, routes, etc:

I'll be in if I'm still in the country.0 -
The idea of a sportive in and around London doesn't appeal to me. I ride in London all the time and there are too many iPeds, traffic and traffic lights to really open up.

FTFY.
I thought (hoped) you were too busy to post these days?
Maybe I'm only manly enough not to be bullied and punched in the chops when out on my bike.
Oh, how I wish I were RC.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

It's only fairly briefly in London from Herne Hill for a few miles, then it's through villages and in the country around London - hence "ride AROUND London" rather than "ride through London"Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Sounds good! I'd be up for it.0

Signed up for the 115 mile Herne Hill route this afternoon; a couple of mates are doing the shorter 60 mile route starting around Windsor so I'm hoping to catch up with them somewhere along the way.
Didn't do it last year but have found the 2011 route: http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=427314Marmalade0 -
I'm going to sign up tomorrow, post here to let me know when you're in!Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Hmmm... its only really a Ride around the western half of London... but could be nice outing for the Fratello when it arrives... 184km, 1200m climbing is not so different to the DD a week or so back.
The main issue I have is that it doesn't start and finish in the same place.... Herne Hill is an hour+ cycle to the start from home and Lee Valley is about the same, and there is little PT in either case... needs thinking about...Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0 -
is the £75 fundraising target compulsory?0

Go for it... The only thing I'm concerned about is the weather at the end of September! Given that it's pretty much autumnal at the moment...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
I reckon we'll have an Indian summer HH. Sadly I'm in Palma with the missus for our anniversary - otherwise I'd be on this like a tramp on a chip.0

I'll be doing this with a group of mates. Judging by our London2Brighton2London time, I think it could be a slow ride.FCN3: Titanium Qoroz.0

I've entered, Headhunter!
Not only an exclamation I'm excited about, but an excellent example of how useful the humble comma can be when trying to avoid confusion.
As for the weather, let's face it, it can't be any worse.0 -
The fundraising target is £75 this year.0

Is that obligatory?
It's not that much really... Will it go to a good cause, or to charity?0 -

I don't like asking people for money unless I've done work for them (in which case, I'm pretty quick asking...)
If I have to raise money to do it, I won't go.0 -

Hence my question. I'd consider making the donation myself in a good cause. Abstract charity is another matter.0
