why on earth are they trying to ease the jersey off Canc - can't they just cut it off ? Be a damn sight easier and less painful

    For Brits, yes.

    No

Ok - how do you rate it in the best single year's performance league table I have just invented?

4th for Phinney in the RR and the TT. Very frustrating for him.

I understand your sentiment but I just get the feeling that he's promised a lot and not managed to live up to expectations. Certainly plenty of time to change that but there's no obvious sign of that happening.

Excellent ride by Phinney. With 4 more years and more grand tours to build lactate metabolism, he'll win a medal.

    Giro + Worlds > Dauphine+ Paris Nice+ Olympics.

    No?

Think you may have referred to the wrong person. JV thinks Phinney will improve so does Oldweshman.

I'm confused now because JV's last tweet suggests that Phinney will get better which is what Oldwelshman was saying!

is this a better year than Roche's triple crown year?

For British fans yes - but in true cycling terms its not even close.

The triple crown in cycling terms has never been bettered.... Only two have done it - Merckx and Roche.

Chapeau to Wiggins, Martin and Frome. Feel really bad for Leon Sanchez suffering a snapped chain and a puncture. 42 seconds - that is nigh on a second a Km taken out of Tony Martin - immense TT.

Immense respect for Spartacus showing the true spirit of a champion despite finishing in absolute clip - legend!
