    I know full well who Porter is. He is a British cycling hero, however he is an embarrassment when it comes to road race commentating and should stick to his natural habitat of the velodrome.

    He makes more mistakes than P&P, the worst being in Geelong when everyone saw the breakaway rider caught with about1km to go but he called him as the winner.

    Has anyone at the BBC watched how the Europeans cover cycling? Time gaps shown on screen etc etc etc...

    Gutted Eurosport commentary doesn't start until 2pm

    +1 Alan. They should have just went to ASO or whoever and got their graphics,camera team etc and let them organise it....pathetic there is no KM countdown gauge or time gaps....a TRACK commentary team covering the road just super :roll:

    Hugh is in quite a dramatic mood today. TWO MINUTE GAP with only 200k to go!

    Strong riders in the break, but they are pootling along. Can't be going that quick as the rider from Korea hasn't been dropped yet.

    This break will loose a few riders so gb just have to keep it steady, long way to do that though so guess Eisel will be called upon at some point :D not usre about Uran as he may have a dig later. Sagan will just sit there all day as will EBH. Germans may help a bit later. I would gamble and swing off for a few miles see what happens.

    Looks like GB have stopped working, Millar had a word with the Germans, and then with Cav, much headshaking going on, and now the peloton is riding kerb to kerb.

    Not sure that not riding will work. Why would anyone else bother when they know no-one can beat Cav to the sprint? Can't believe Boonen was allowed in the break as well...
