Please could you put the lm4- race up in full? The highlights miss them reeling in the Aussies.

Folks you aren't going to like this, but.....Team GB arrogance got a good kicking there.

I do think there was too much of the Tour de France tactics/arrogance. They let people go thinking that they could chase they down, grind a result and then deliver Cav who would simply blow shoot apart. 'No need to attack we are better, more powerful, in command of everything...' Team GB needed to ride a different race, displayed a different type of aggression. But that's too easy to say now, and they clearly worked hard. Everyone has the tactics that delivered Bradders 'sussed' hurl attacks at him/them hope one sticks...

Wasn't so much letting people go....it was the calibre of the people they let go. These weren't some nobodies up the road for a bit of air time. These were some of the best riders in the world.

That said they were caught between the rock and a hard place. Chasing harder on the Box Hill sections would have blown Cav out the back.

Shame none of the Irish riders got in the break.

I'm not sure anyone knew who was up the road. All the jerseys looked the same.

Sorry, I should say I agree to a point. Vino, Valverde, Cancellara, Gilbert. Ooops.

Still, although Vino has never actually admitted to being juiced up or apologised, he's entertained over the years. I can't help but like his style.

    Well.

A nice ride out through Kingswood to the course (think I saw Il Principe heading the other way on his Dogma) a really great atmosphere to watch most of the laps of the Box Hill circuit go past with the eldest on my shoulders, nice weather, and Headley Cricket Club (and others maybe) had put on a nice spread - mmm, tea and cake. A pleasant ride home to catch the finale, and then what a disappointment. I guess no great surprise - didn't this sort of thing happen on the Tour in the last year Cav was at HTC? Surely the team management would have considered this eventuality.

On the upside, my potatoes have done much better than I expected: 3-4 kilos off the first two rows, and they looked like they'd been killed off by the rain.

If you thought Hugh Porter was bad did any of you catch BBC Sport editor, David Bond's piece for the news and his equally shoddy blog? Click here. Nice to see so many people commenting on his piss-poor knowledge of the sport.

The worst thing is he will have given a skewed and completely unfair view to thousands of people who don't really know better but happened to be watching the 10 O'clock news. As far as they'll now be concerned, team GB just didn't have the legs to match the competition. Shame on him and good on Cav for his retort!

Having seen the coverage I recorded yesterday evening, I'm glad I was out on the course instead of stuck in the house watching it. My God, it would have driven me mad.

A great atmosphere in Richmond Park. Chris Froome received a massive ovation as he came through on his own, but so did the small group at the back of the race. Great day out.

Is it fair to say that there were significantly less empty "seats" along the course than there were at the other venues...?

+1. Everyone got a cheer at Headley, too. Glad I missed most of the telly.

Think I'll stick to the Kingston Gate area again. We were just up from the roundabout yesterday and it worked well.

Saw London-Red by Richmond Gate roundabout yesterday morning. He said "hello" and it didn't register who he was. He then said, "look at the bike", and then it dawned on me.

Countryside? In Richmond? Is that right? I call it a "Park".

Of course. I'm sure that's what he meant. The Thames is longer than the parts of the Severn that run through England.

Heavy rain in Bushy Park just before they came through. Another run in with a volunteer that wouldn't let me in at Hampton Court gate so I had to ride back along Hampton Court Road to get into the park. Had a chat with a couple of Wheelers that had a similar encounter, until a policeman said " we tell you when to close it, let them through"
Nearly as bad as the guy that wouldn't let me cross at a crossing point because I was wheeling a bike.
Off to Ham dip for the return in a bit.

I am full of admiration for Chris Boardman's patience with Porter today and yesterday. After 7 hours of commentary, he's still just calmly saying "No, it's Nicole Cooke" whenever Porter says something like "Who's that struggling? I think it's Eddie Merckx. Is it?"

I'm a patient man but I would have cracked long ago and blurted out "FFS, Hugh, will you just SHUT UP until you have the slightest clue about what is going on".
