Roche sounding realistic.
I think it's about time he realised that he wasn't going to win the Tour.
Hopefully he'll get a chance to focus on some one day races and short stage races as well as pacing Contador up the climbs, I think this is more likely to be where he can make a name for himself. Watching him killing himself for 12th place was frankly embarassing when you think that if he'd concentrated on getting himself into some breaks then he'd probably have a GT stage win or two to his name by now."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
Have we done Nibs to Astana yet?

With Agnoli and Vanotti.
Have fun with your money lads.
Then come looking for a job with Saxo, working for the best stage racer this generation.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Ag2r sign Colombian talent Carlos Bettancur from Acqua & Sapone + Italian sprinter Davide Appollonio from Sky http://www.cyclismactu.net/news-transfe ... 26571.html (French)0 -
Betancur is a big big get for them. He'll challenge in a lot of hilly classics. Appollonio good, solid, but missing a little bit of top end speed I think.0

Have Sky told all their sprinters to bugger off?
Saying that I cannot truely beleive Sky will let Cav go regardles of the whole GC ambition talk.0 -

Still young and not really getting the chances behind Cav and Swift. A good move for both AG2R and Appolonio I would say.0 -
Roche freeing up some cash and now AG2R will get quite a few wins. Good move.Contador is the Greatest0

I think he has been inhibited a bit in the team he’s been in for the last few years. I don’t think he gets a fair crack of the whip. I don’t think he’ll ever get the support that the French riders do when they’re in those teams and I think he’s battled with that the last two years. I’ve noticed it more this year with the addition of Jean-Christophe Péraud to the AG2R roster. He seems to get all the support in races while Nicolas is left to his own devices, maybe with one rider to look after him.
It was the same last year in the 2010 Tour where he was up against John Gadret for team leadership. Gadret would puncture and the whole team would wait. Nicolas would puncture and nobody would wait. I saw that at first hand and I think with more support he’s capable of better results than he’s been getting.
But he’s learning his trade in French teams and still getting results with everything going against him. The minute that he gets a team that’s centred solely around Nicolas Roche, like I did at Team Sky, I think the results will just start flowing.'Google can bring back a hundred thousand answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.'

In which case, the question begs itself: why was he still at AG2R? Either couldn't get a ride elsewhere or didn't have the balls/intelligence to look for a move?Contador is the Greatest0

He had a contract that was too expensive to break? It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -
Nice to see AG2R letting Roche continue with his schedule and not doing it the Hog way.0

With the fact that Sky TV in Italy have quite a reasonable share holding in Team Sky I would like to see a couple of Italian signings for 2013. I would really like to see Moreno Moser signed up.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0
-
I can't see Liquigas letting him go anywhere. He and Sagan are their post-Nibali, post-Basso future.
Talk around Sky signings has been very quiet this year.0 -
Why would Moser go to Sky?
So he can sit in a train for a GT contender or be called 3rd rate by de Vlaemink?0 -
Moser has too much panache to ride for robotic Sky.Contador is the Greatest0

Was going to say the same, Sky's team dynamic in no way suits Moreno Moser.0 -

Seems silly to have to ask this on this forum, but people are aware there are races other than grand tours, right?
Anyone who has watched any of Burgos or Poland in the last month will have seen how attacking Sky can be when it's their strongest card. Uran, Henao, Nordhaug, Stannard haven't exactly been riding robotically.0 -
Turfle, I hope that is directed at me, and if it is, it's wrong. I watch almost all the races throughout the year where I can. Henao is good yes and a great attacker - I was first to mention him as one to look out for after seeing him in a 'small' race. Henao is
Burgos I have been following and would have posted a 'spoiler' thread for it but thought it would have just got lost in all the new threads popping up all over the place given the Olympics.Contador is the Greatest0 -
It was directed at the general perception of Sky as robotic, while Liquigas, who ride exactly the same way as Sky in Grand Tours aren't seen the same way.
The Sky Tour team ride that way because it suits their leader.
The Sky classics teams, where Moser would fit in, have been as attacking as anyone over the season.0 -

Why is an attacking rider like JTL going there then?0 -

Wouldn't surprise me TBH. There's an article in the latest Cycling Weekly where he states he wants to move to World Tour and that's not going to happen with Endura. He states he's had talks with several teams, but nothing firm yet.
And I believe his bike was seen at a SKY training camp earlier this year wasn't it?0 -

Probably will go to Sky but personally I would love to see him at Garmin.0
