141 miles ave 18.4mph. Big thanks to Bann Wheelers and Dromara CC for pulls round the back half of the course. That climb out of ballintoy was a wee bugger!
I was one of the Bann Wheelers....was a great run to be part of, even though one of our members punctured on the flyover 50yds from the start.

That would be the ultimate selfie even if it did risk crashing.

Seen Tinkoff Saxo team car sitting in traffic on Boucher Road only one guy in the car and no bikes on it.

Guys, got to pick my son up today in Lisburn around 3 o'clock. Any advice for how to get into Belfast at that time, considering roads are closed from 4 would be greatly appreciated??

Thinking to park in Lisburn and get the train in - but would like something easier for getting home again later.

Just bunked out of work for an hour to watch the TTT practice coming past - saw most teams except Sky.

Hard to know about parking & access tonight (and getting away afterwards) - I have to pick my daughter up from Comber & my wife is coming in from Dublin later this evening, I am a bit torn between getting a train in from Hollywood or Bangor or trying to get in to park at work before the roads close at 4. Problem either way is that she won't be happy to walk very far.

Just to say Bann Wheelers Causeway Cycle Challenge is on Sunday 27th July. Always a great day, great route and all monies raised go to local charities - over £6000 donated last year.

Nope, but I wouldn't mind xraying my bikes out of curiosity! Maybe do an annual inspection to see how long a light carbon frame really lasts. I don't know if you'd be able to see tiny stress fractures or not, I guess thaats what I'd like to find out.

Money making scheme that has nothing to do the legacy of anything. Much like the 2015 version of the Big Italian Bike Ride, which is neither Italian nor on any of the route taken by the Giro.

They also, as it's not a Cycling Ireland event, plonked their date right on top of one of the biggest sportives of the year (NDCC Coastal Challenge) that actually has charity beneficiaries.

You know what they say about fools and their money :D The same companies Euro gran fondos cost 70e + to enter
And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.

Bangor coastal every time. Great event.
  • If the Gran Fondo was Closed Road, it'd have a USP. As it stands, it's not really floating my boat. For another thing, it's a bit short.
