Maybe they should cut teams to 5 riders.

martin cracked, sky will leave evans out there until summit. Cant believe kirby suggesting he is keeping somethin back, you dont attack then save yourself ffs. basso wont last, so can see nibs gaining on decent with three sky riders left, they will have all of them after decent but rodgers will drop

Evans caught. Will sky now try to lose him before the top?

He was ill / injured most of last year but came back strongly towards end of the season, seems to have had a good winter and been strong all year this time round. People forget that he was vying for yellow in 2007 before he crashed in a breakaway with the chicken, back then him and Evans were on a pretty similar level. He's not as old as he looks either!

No this is my first ever race. How stupid of me to think cycling might work better by reducing the dominance you can but with a raft of top domestiques. Cycling could never work with 5 riders per team.

Short descent to next climb... really short... 3km to top of Glandon is horrible... the 3 km to Croix de Fer are relatively easy

Excuse my ignorance but why is this two climbs in one? Do they turn off the Glandon road onto another to the summit of the Croix de Fer?

Sorry, this post was somewhat in jest referring to Mick's well known inability to challenge in major (& more recently minor) tours which has cost me dear in a number of former PTP punts. Freiberg Mick is genuinely a favourite of mine

sorry I used wrong wuoye  I meant with your comment about Rodgers being shite, he has always been qialitly and won world TT more than once, and was once touted and TDF winner. He was a shrewd signing for sky

It’s marked Col de la Croix de Fer… but in fact the race climbs the Col du Glandon, only switching at the top to the Croix de Fer.

Evans looks to be struggling, you rarely see him sat at the back like this.

Evans looks cooked - Oh well if were looking for attacks it's now up to Nibali & Van den Broucke.

Reminding me this like the start of the Indurain tours just replace Evans with Tony Rominger 2nd best once again.

    No, Zubeldia is still there.
