There's a lot of people doing calculations according to Kelly.

    Luckily no "bonifications" this year

Depends how much pulling they have done in the lead group and whether they are genuinely capable of matching the GC contenders speed when he arrives

When I saw that first, I assumed ASO had printed it back-to-front. But, no. No they hadn't.

Combination of dull parcours and saving themselves for tomorrow perhaps? Unless we're banking on Nibali lighting it up on the descent?

Have I missed an explanation for RSNT not being in the stupid yellow helmets? I thought it was supposed to be a requirement for the leading team this year?

No feed so just following this thread.

Is Sagan still between the GC group and the leaders?

Sky should just keep it in check, no need to take too many risks here

It's not a requirement to wear those yellow helmets...

It's voluntary. 2 of the 22 teams said no.

Problem is that if guys 10 minutes down like Scarponi are given 5 minutes by the end, then they have become another potential threat to have to be managed. If the big boys are going to let the break stick, the gap won't be allow to be more than perhaps two minutes by the finish.

I take the point, but it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to have someone else in Yellow for a while, as long as they are kept on a short leash. Unless things go seriously wrong, Wiggins & Froome are on a different planet to everyone else in the TdF - no danger to step off the gas a little. IMHO of course ;)
No, anything can happen, If wiggi has bit of bad day could loose two minutes easily, what if he punctured in the TT if he needed to gain a minute or two to get yellow?
There wil be far less pressure if he has 2 minute lead going into last cpl stages and TT.
Sky riding very controlled so far , think thety will have a bit left in reserve for after the decent even if they attack. Its toooo far from finish unless a group of 6 or 7slip sky.

Must be slightly annoying agreeing to wearing them if you need to but never getting anywhere near the chance to use the helmets.

I assume they were being lugged around in the team trucks

At least some of the RSNT riders are wearing them - I think Jens might have one?
