Brajkovic receiving some attention from the medical car. Just brought down by a rogue Lampre rider.

This is Cav's tweet from before the start of the stage:

Mark Cavendish on Twitter: "There's just something about #TourdeFrance that just brings out fire in me. @AndreGreipel was so strong. He will win a few stages. Trust me. Funny emotions. Regardless how many stages we win this year, I won't be happy unless we have the yellow jersey in Paris #allezwiggo."

Part of me still thinks he wants green, or at least a win in Paris.

Is he not just going for all the KOM points? Thats what he did yesterday.

Re this stage: from the descriptions some of the climbs sound a bit Flanders-y in terms of length and gradient, why isn't Cancellara getting more love?

He's getting no love because I backed him at 40/1 for Stage 1 and Sagan was much, much stronger.

If Cav makes it to Paris will Sky try and rustle up a train for him? I know their riders aren't perfectly suited to it, but surely guys like Foome, Wiggins, Porte and Rogers who can TT well could have a pretty good stab at a train, and then he'd have EBH and Bernie for the final lead out.

I think he's realistic about green but he definitely wants the win in Paris. By that stage and if things go to plan Wiggins should be in yellow so Cav will get a full lead out, maybe even with Wiggins as the last man in the train. No one else will even get a look in.

    Ah we can but dream

No reason why not, they'll be wanting as much exposure as possible if Wiggo is in yellow. Whether Cav is there is the bigger question, my head says he won't be but listening to his interviews he has mentioned the Paris finish a few times which suggests he at least hopes to be there.

Because he didn't bring his travel adaptor to charge his electric bike?

Anyhoo, its quite probable he'll ride like a plank and get mugged by the other boys before the finish if the first half of 2012 is anything to go by.

Anyway. There is a race going on.

Morkov, Bernaudeau, Grivko, Moreno (EE), Minard have 5mins on the peloton.

Morkov will have some points to take. Currently has polka dots all over him.

Sagan should start calling cavendish "Camenzind" - sounds like it winds him up

Did Van Hummel disturb the carpet of rose petals in front of Cav?
