So, it the detailed plan - turn up at the Roebuck any time after 1pm and get p1ssed? I've not been to one of these soirees before so I don't know the etiquette. I'll be late anyway as I'll want a mooch round the Olympic park but I daresay I'll be along by 4 latest by which time I expect everyone to be on the floor in comas.

Also, as it is a That London social cycling do, must I wear my casquette? It's a bit sweat stained.......
Yes a clean casquette please, leave your cloth cap up north

I'll leave mine sometime after 1pm, do a lap or two of the park then to the pub by about 2pm if all goes to plan.

I'm cycling to Brighton Friday night at Midnight, then after Breakfast cycling back, I may stop at the park, I may do a lap, you may have to keep waking me up, you may have to carry or escort me home :0)

    See you there!

Not sure at the moment but I may cycle down, as it's only 28miles and it would be interesting to put some faces to monikers. What time are most people going to be there? and will I be verbally abused if I rock up on the BSO?

I reckon there should be a fair few people there by 2. Certainly not a place for bike snobbery, compliments in the faint hope of being bought a drink are more likely.

    Mad talk.

I suggest anyone in the process of growing a set of Wiggo homage 'burns be bought drinks all day.
Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

    What would Thora Hurd do?

I'll start growing them now. Won't be very impressive growth in 2 days.
You'll all be glad to know that I went to the Roebuck last night and there was definitely beer there. I can recommend the Mad Goose but would say avoid the Summer Daze at all costs.
  • I can't come and scalp you all on the Brompton... Watching the Triathlon, plus family coming down = no bike fun. Enjoy!
Why? Because I'm guaranteed a seat all the way in.

I'm still aiming to attend subject to energy levels after riding back from Brighton. May need a snooze on arrival before I can talk to anyone :)

I'm considering making one of my very rare visits, if I can get motorbike #2 serviced in the morning and the sun is shining. Otherwise I'll just sulk at home with the telly.

Ooooh, getting giddy now. Can't wait for tomorrow. A great day starting in the velodrome and going rapidly down hill the further West I'll get! See you all tomorrow at the Roebuck. Prolly later though as I suspect I'll be spending some time at the Olympic park mooching around. I take it the action will still be on in the late afternoon?

Didn't you slip off from the Xmas drinks early for a night ride? There are plenty of benches outside The Roebuck if you fancy a snooze.

Looks like I might be able to get to that London after all. How will I recognise you lot? The most "heavily refreshed" in the pub?

(edit): Oh yeah, and what's the bike-locking protocol? D-Lock required?

    ah buggrit.

Southern F*cking Rail don't allow bikes North of Gatwick during the Olympics. I don't particularly fancy riding in from there. F*ck you Southern Rail. 13 quid wasted.

Guys, I've just arrived home. I'm dirty, smelly, wet and tired. Shower and bed for me. I'm to tired to be pissed that I can't make it. Try not to be too distraught :(

Yes, good to meet a few of you, enjoyed the ride in a bit more than the one back though; headwind for 30miles but at least I didn't get lost, unlike the one in!

Apologies, chaps. I originally had next week off too, but that's not happening anymore, so I had to spend yesterday afternoon looking for tiles instead.
