Sort of begs the question of when do LA and his attorneys get told who these witnesses are? In a "regular" court of law defence attorney's receive ALL evidence that the prosection has BEFORE any trail begins. Then again I'm not sure how USADA, and it's counterparts, laws read or work.
USADA gave a clear explanation of how this would work. Armstrong either asks for arbitration or doesn't. If he does, he will see what evidence USADA have to allow him to prepare for the arbitration, which isn't run by USADA.
He knows this but seems to act like he doesn't and its all so unfair.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

how ironic.....

On September 18, 2012, Hamilton will publish his autobiography "The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France: Doping, Cover-ups, and Winning at All Costs" co-written with American writer Daniel Coyle.[35] In it he allegedly tells not only of his battle with depression, and racing, but also his relationship with Lance Armstrong and doping. The book is released, strangely, on Lance Armstrongs birthday. (source: wikipedia)0 -

Sadly enough it will most likely become a big seller, if only for the reason that people
don't really care about the training, how it all works, what it's like to ride the tour, how tactics work, life on the road, etc. No, it will sell big because of whatever dirt it contains.0 -

So you want the main player in one of the biggest doping scandals in cycling to write about stuff we can read in other books?
I think the book will be
- Young Tyler - Turning pro, all happy
- Start descent into doping
- USPS years
- Going solo - Cecchini, what really happened on CSC with Riis, Phonak
- Olympic positive
- Fighting it and why he did
- Comeback. How the UCI tried to block him at every turn
- Puerto pt 2.
- Finish with cycling.
- Depression and all that period of his life (a theme through the book)
- Floyd confession, confessing himself and what other people have said.
Doesn't that sound like a better book that "My ass hurt, I had to eat more, it's scary and fast" for 200 pages?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

that's not irony .. that's marketing
Interesting to compare Coyle's Lance TdF bio with this...'Do not compare your bike to others, for always there will be greater and lesser bikes'0 -

Not at all. Just commenting on why it will most likely sell big. People love to read the dirt on people who's station in life is higher than their own. Makes them feel better about themselves. Really sad part is that "the dirt" doesn't have to be true, just sound like it might or could be.0 -
Dennis, have you had a beer with Tyler Hamilton?0

dennisn wrote:Absolutely. Doesn't mean that everything said about someone is true. I'm sure that if I searched forums long enough I would most likely find that all the ills of the world can be traced back to LA. Opps, sorry, I meant to say Obama.
I dare say that there is a big difference between posting something on an internet forum and publishing it in a book. You can bet the publishers will have gone through Hamilton's book with a fine legal comb; if there's anything he can't substantiate it will have been censored - unfortunate for those of us after scandal, but better than pulping the whole print run as a result of an injunction (I suspect David Millar had to be vague about names because of legal limitations).
If he can back it up, however...

FWIW I'm thinking that TH's book is going to be more "vague" than not. I don't see the book selling better if it's a complete tell all than if it's just beating around the bush. If I were TH I'd play it safe even if I had rock solid proof. After all there are only a certain amount of people who will buy this book, and they will buy it reguardless of whether it's a tell all or not. So why tell it all? There is risk involved in it. In any case the rest of us will read whatever headlines(if any) the book makes. Well, that's my opinion FWIW.0 -
Meh, if it's too vague, it becomes a bit pointless. I don't expect it to be, and such and such a person give me x amount of EPO, and helped inject it, or whatever. But I think it'll probably contain some big names.
At the end of the day, if it details some kind of USPS wide doping regime, it will make a far bigger splash, then if it just contains some vague sound bites. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
Surely everyone has already seen Ty's scary doping regime?
I don't care too much about what he says about USPS. CSC is way more interesting.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

What if everyone released factually backed up books like this tearing lance to pieces so that he was stuck between taking a libel case out against them and losing and having to have his dirty laundry aired in public. I mean even if judge sparks said in a matter of fact way "although we did not see the evidence, of we had I have no doubt that you would have been found guilty as charged" opening himself up for a libel claim from LA then allowing the facts to show Themselves in a court of law?0

I was more thinking of the books appeal amongst the American general public, who probably don't really care about doping in some random Danish team run by Mr 60%.You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -

Im sure id there was any part of this book hamilton couldnt prove Armstrong's defence team would stop it being published (as they did with the David Walsh book in the UK & US) - So its either full of fully backed up facts or as Iain said rather vague...dont knock on death\'s door.....
Ring the bell and leg it...that really pi**es him off....0 -

if i'm correct today is the last day both parties have for submitting more documents on the case. The judge will then have to decide something by Weds as that is the USADA deadline.
Doubt we will have anything today but the next few days could be interesting0 -

You mean Rick
Rick = short, skinny, anglo-dutch cyclist
Rich = short, fat, anglo-welsh hockey player
One of us actual uses their real name and one has a signed Boonen WC jersey hanging on their wall.
Totally off topic - did you enjoy the hockey (the 9-2 or whatever it was 'drubbing' aside [was it even a drubbing? No clue about hockey])?0
