It's a 3 week Tour. Anything can happen to anyone at any time. I don't think Brad has it in the bag, but neither does anyone else.

All it takes is a split second loss of concentration and it's over.

As you all know, I think the Tour is a bunch of overrated bumwash, however, I do think it might not be a straight up 2 way battle.

And it might not be all down to TT'ing ability.
I have to agree with you Iain (shock!) otherwise I am dreading it already with Harmon over Skying his commentary! I may have to turn the sound down and just watch the pictures.

I also agree. I've a feeling (maybe optimism at play here) that someone completely unexpected is going to end up doing very well in GC and it will happen not in the mountains but as a result of a rolling stage where a break stays away whilst Sky and BMC are worrying about each other.

Good he said that? Why would he even think that and even say it? He's not the defending champion nor has he actually won on the road.
    Really?
    2008 - 12 place, white jersey
    2009 - 2nd place, white jersey
    2010 - Winner, white jersey
    2011 - 2nd place.

(Also 2nd in Giro in 2008). Yeah, I have no idea why he thinks that he would have been viewed a contender for the 2012 TdF...

This is a more sensible statement from Andy than first appears. When Wiggins (or whoever) wins this year, it is almost inevitable that the press or someone on here will say "easy victory, no real opposition 'cos Andy/Bertie didn't ride". He made the comment because he knows that his injury is one of those things that can happen and he'll be back. He is still a young rider with a huge amount of talent.

So what Andy should of said was, "Yeah who knows if I would of taken 2nd this year or not? Cadel and Wiggins are flying right now so the top two spots would of been really tough to achieve. Unfortunately I do not qualify for the White jersey any more so..."

Andy is a fantastic and talented rider and will no doubt win the tour aghain, but I dont think this year was it given the course, form of wiggins and evans, and th efact I think his head has gone with all the crap at radioshack going on, you could see what he was like last week dropping on one of the climbs.
Even though he can be a pain moaning (jens doesnt seem to think so) would never wish injury on any sportsman.
Hope he recovers soon, think he will will the Vuelta though noiw as his head will be right then :D

    Pretty good this.

    Then:
I’ll miss Andy, the little brother in the Tour, who always has these discussions with his big brother Franky in Luxembourgish. Franky still feels responsible for his little brother, and the little brother tries to tell his older brother, “I’m OK. I’m grown up now.”

Think Frank will do well without the weight of worrying about Andy.
