I've quite enjoyed watching Hincapie over the past few years. Genuine guy as far as I can tell.

FF, presumably you're intimating "good ridance" with that photo.

No, its just a cool photo. I don't have much of an opinion about him. Yes he took drugs but he comes across as a nice guy and a great teammate. Very strong regardless.

^ this, doesn't fit well with this:
    Go George. Finally.

You have bad form so you will get one response.

Dont jump to conclusions. The 2nd comment you quote was related to him giving evidence.

    Good.

    Good.

You've never seen me ride a bike so you don't know if my form is good or bad.

I've never tested positive, so no bad form there.

So, don't know what the 'bad form' means.

I'm just commenting on your posts, one post saying good riddance to hincapie, the other saying you have no opinion, he took drugs but he seems a nice guy. Whether one was related to the allegations of giving evidence or not is a moot point. You contradicted yourself.

Now you further contradict yourself by saying you don't like him for giving evidence.

So, you don't mind him taking drugs in the past, 'because he's a nice guy now', but you don't like him for giving evidence about taking the drugs in the past.

I know it's a complex issue, but come on!

I used to love Armstrong, but the more I've learned, the less I like him. similarly with Contador.

Just re read all my posts as you have the opposite interpretation. I cant be bothered to explain to you especially as it is pretty obvious.

Not to me. what does: 'Go George. Finally', mean?

If it means what I think it does, that you want George to finally leave pro racing, then it doesn't fit with your statement about not having an opinion and he seems nice guy.

If you are saying that you were congratulating him for his allegedly giving evidence, then I apologise. But it's not at all obvious that this is what you meant, so an explanation is needed.

if you don't want to give an explanation, that is up to you, but it will leave me (at least) thinking, 'just what did he mean?'

I think he meant as in Hincapie is going to testify, finally. Go George! I agree it could be read a couple of ways, just a simple misunderstanding.

Just found this, it is George being interviewed before today's stage.

As has been the case in the past, he has not responded directly about claims that he has spoken to investigators. Asked if he had spoken to Armstrong, he said that it has been some time since they were in contact.

“I haven’t in a while. I feel bad that he is going through all this,” he said. “Lance has done so many things for the sport. His accomplishments are incredible, what he has achieved in the sport of cycling, the attention he has brought to the sport of cycling, what he has done for the cancer society is honourable.”

That wasn't the statement I was expecting about LA and not a "sorry" in sight

Cancer society? FFS it's not some luvvy duvvy organisation that people apply to join. What a sh*t choice of phrase!!

Your right, its a fraudulent organisation that rakes in cash, is a mask for Armstrongs personal PR ''oh what a charitable man'' and spends very very little on actual cancer research/cure/patients. Really cool wristbands though.

Without LAnce Armstrong, or doping, how good would George have been and would be talking of him?

This could be an interesting thread topic. Who would be who on BR Pro Race? I guess "Le Patrons" would have a few thou posts under their belt but would, for example, FF be Hinault because of his feisty nature?

  • I had a similar thought last night, but I had him as Pozzato.

Thinks he rules the roost, likes to throw his weight around and painfully style concious.
