I think the Giro will favour the brave for stage picks at least.

Hasn't been the case so far.

Hasn't been the case so far.

But this is where it starts to get difficult. A week of sprints and TTs was never going to be all that unpredictable.

Giro over. Mad_Malk walked off with the pink jersey, but in the overall standings Art Vandelay keeps hold of his lead. Rick closes the gap a little, though, and is now just 24 points behind.

I thought I had a sh!te Giro. always picking the wrong person on the wrong day, but I'm up to fourth.

The missus won't care when I tell her later though, and the kid's not old enough to understand

The spread is prety narrow for a GT.

Ignoring mad max who smashed the Giro like he was Contador (and he's nowhere near in the season-long competition) the top 40 are spread by just 50 points, or a classics win. I gained that much over a fair few competitors with my Scheldeprijs pick.

From 3-48th is also just 50 points.

God knows how i held 19th - woefully, kept changing picks at the last moment - like was set on Pinotti for ages for today, but switched to Phinney at the last moment...

Ah well, live to fight another day - top 10 is the aim this season I think.

Bah, poor show so far for me. Some poor shows in the classics. Seems My picks but GTs are better but I've always found them relatively easy to predict. AFX, is there a way to work out points scored in and outside of stage races, or like a mark out of 100% ? Would be interesting to see where people pick best.

My missus doesn't care either and my daughter's view of my triumph was still 'sad'

It's not exactly going to make much difference but I think I got 148 on the Giro PTP thread but only got 108 on the overall spreadsheet!

I picked a Rabobank rider, so net effect will probably be the same as not picking one at all.

Art Vandelay and iain both picked Gesink for the overall, and he was way off yesterday, so it probably won't make much difference.

Ah, the joys of being uber negative about Rabobank.

Oof, I spoke too soon about Gesink. He picked up 30 points in the end, which was bad news for Rick. Art Vandelay still leads.

After a shocking start to the year I am making steady progress towards the top 10 on GC, coming into form nicely for Le Grande Boucle.

I'm already there, though quite how I managed to remain in the top 20 after such a dismal Tour I will never know. Perhaps Nico will be able to answer that...
