    Contador, Schleck -> sharing pace making at the leading group
    34s down -> Voeckler solo
    1m40s -> Evans + the peleton

    What is Andy doing? Bertie asks for help and he does - surely Andy's job is to sit of Bertie's wheel and attack in the last few kms if he can? If they get caught it is no big issue and either Frank or him could attack. I think I might send Andy an email about some Nigerian money he can have if he pays me a few grand in advance!

    Andy still needs to put time into Evans. This is one way of doing it...

    Yep, but leave Bertie to do the hard work and then go on the final climb. Think this is playing into Cadel's hands myself.

    Voeckler looks like he is making heavy weather of it, and the climb start to get (even) harder pretty soon.

    Voeckler is a hero. He's slowly riding across the gap.

    Never mind a podium - Tommy should be admitted to the Legion d'honneur.

    His riding is just raw emotion and sheer guts.

    I've got a lump in my throat just watching him.

    If the peleton can keep gap around 1.30 could we see Evans repeat what he did yesterday?

    If TV arrives at the Alpe with an empty tank he could lose the podium let alone the yellow jersey. Maybe all or nothing is how he wants to go out.

    The gaps have all been about the same for the last 8km or more.

    That said, the gap to the bunch and Evan's does seem to be growing now...

    the descent is not technical. there's about 4 hairpins in 40km.

    Agree, you gotta be worried about Voeckler on the Alpe. He could end up hors delai alongside Cav at this rate.

    Respect to tommy v, wow! Can't help thinking he is just burying himself though. If he gets across to leaders, andy will just put a big effort in and break his will.

    I think the timings are a bit off today. From the pictures you could literally see him getting closer and closer. Whether he can maintain that as the gradient gets higher is debatable....

    Whatever Europcar's paying Voeckler, they're robbing him!
    He's a better fighter than anything in the French Airforce!
