    Apparently he touched the guardrail with his pedal and then crashed against the wall on the other side...(source: RaiSport)

    what happened? did he collide with other riders? Was anyone else hurt?

    He was the only one involved. There was a high stone wall on his right, so possibly he hit that with his head.

    from the helicopter pictures you can clearly see a white sheet on the ground...I hope that is not what I think it is! Hang in there...
