I hate to say it but just went a rewound the video and there was a river of blood on the road. I'd be shocked if the rider survived. Please, I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, streams of it pouring away. Possible head wound with the amount of blood.

I'm not sure they should have showed that.

Anyone close to him watching is going to be feeling absolutely awful. Feel for those involved.

David Harmon doing well to keep talking here. I don't feel like watching a bike race any more.

Like they said, maybe the Italian director wasn't aware of how bad it was when they cut to it. They didn't dwell on it for too long.

Sometimes unavoidable when it's live. I remember the motorbike accident in the Paris-Roubaix - made me sick to my stomach, but cause it was live, it takes a moment to register what you've just seen. Glad there's not been any more on the live stream I'm watching, just hoping he's ok. First time watching the Giro too. :(

We didn't see the crash, just the aftermath. Long, fast descent, though.

I only briefly saw the pictures of him-I'm watching online and was on a different window and navigated back to see his face-I immediately looked away, but from what I can remember, his face looked horrifically disfigured down the right hand side and there was alot of blood.

I cant tell if the bunch have sat up or what?

Had been following on CN ticker, but someone posted here about awesome descending, so I went checking for a live video feed.

Glad I missed the crash- hope he's going to be fine, but it doesn't sound too good.
