the 2 piece formula rotors are a bit "black"
they should be anodized green to match0 -

There is my new brake set for my Jekyll. I'm sure the green is not everyone's cup of tea but I do think it will look great on my Jekyll plus I'm a big fan of green.
Formula "The One" Limited Edition in metallic green to add abit of "bling bling"
Different class of brakes. Looking for DH/AM brakeset.
x2's are XC brakes and should compare with R1's or SRAM XX. And IMHO R1's wins plus they look nicer, but of course that's just MO.

I wish I was thinking gold like the one's on my Flash but I do like the black ones. Reminds me of my Hope 2pcs race-day rotors that I had before.Vodka anyone? "Honk"

yer i did notice you like formula's im a big fan too, but ive used hope minis for a fair while now and ive found them more than powerful enough with 180mm rotors to bring my 11 stone to halt pretty quick, imo only the r1's get close to the power for a similar weight, and having seen dozens of issues with all kinds of avid brakes first hand, i stay well clear of them, plus i got a great deal on the hopes and they look great, i know they work for me and they are black and green 8)0 -
Picked up a pair of CB Cobalt foam grips. Light but feels a bit soft. Still looking for a light pair of Lock-on grips. Anyone have experience with ODI Ruffian or the other ODI grips. Anyone know the real weight of ODI grips?
Also picked up another pair of tires. Con. X-Kings 2.4

i really can't wait for this build. I monster capability wise but so much lighter than you would think possible. Unless you're greygoose of course, who can whittle grams everywhere.0
-
I've got a set of ODI's, they are a pretty average weight, they are OK, nothing special though.
The manual for that shock mentions death wayyyyy too much for me, and it seems crazily overcomplicated.
Get it built alreadyAnd now you know, and knowing is half the battle

XX Brakes are utter toss IMO, mine needed constant attention and still never worked properly. The new XTRs are very good though.0 -

Me too. I'm so looking forward to this build. My first AM bike build. Should be interesting to see how it does and to see how far I can squeeze the grams out.thel33ter wrote:I've got a set of ODI's, they are a pretty average weight, they are OK, nothing special though.

Are your ODI's durable? Have you bang the side of them? Meaning did it protect your handlebar end?
Yes, the rear shock is scary 450psi wow!!! Good thing it come's with a special pump. Still that is alot of pressure. Think I'll be using goggles when I try to pump or service it
Looks like it will be end of March/early April. Cannondale are so behind this year. :xnjee20 wrote:XX Brakes are utter toss IMO, mine needed constant attention and still never worked properly. The new XTRs are very good though.
Have you tried or seen the new one's without the "Adjustment knob". Its lighter but I wonder if its better. I haven't any news on these XX 2011 brakes.
The XTR brakes are nice. Love the fin's on the caliper. Great idea, but I'm not to keen on the feel of the levers. Maybe I'm just use to Formula'sVodka anyone? "Honk"

They are these ones. The grip itself lasts really well, its quite a hard compound. I have wacked into a brick wall a few times, as well as quite a few crashes, and the ends have held up well. I will probably get some Superstar grips next time though. Or the rubber versions of the Crankbro's you got.

Not tried the new XX ones, wouldnt bother again! Agree though, it's pointless adjustment!
I love the lever feel on the XTRs, it's such a light lever, with a very defined stop, Avid, Formula etc always seem to have more 'give' in them, for want of a better word. Love the green ones.0 -

I've only used XT's, but I agree, I prefer the feel of them to almost everything. Formula's R1's felt pretty similar to the XT's. My older XT's are crap though Even with brand new fluid all the way through, they are a bit weak, and too spongy. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

grip wise, i'd check the ODI troylee's,
ive had a set for ages now and im mega impressed, stupidly comfortable, take out loads of buzz from the trail, loads of grip and last longer than time itself, highly recommended0 -
Don't know which I'm looking more forward to, your build or Dale getting their finger out and delivering my new Flash. Have Dale give you a delivery date?0

What Flash are you getting? I'm asking cause I know some models are having a hard time to be available. Saying that I have seen quite afew Flash Ultimates and 1's but only in small.
Cannondale are so, so behind on there 2011 models  My friends are still waiting on the Team Scalpel which they ordered Sep '10. Plus I haven't even seen the new Team Scalpel yet. I've seen some Scalpel's but haven't seen the team edition.
On the Jekyll I know there are some Ultimate version around Asia but no carbon 1.
I saw the shipping manifest at my LBS and my Jekyll should arrive last week March/first week April :PVodka anyone? "Honk"

Alas, nothing quite as esoteric and elite as yours
I've ordered the F1. Ordered it from my best mate at the LBS before Christmas. He ordered his 0.9 Team at the same time and he's got his shinny new machine 8)

Lizard skins also do a green set of lock-ons(made by ODI). I've just bought a set myself but have no idea of the weight /feel. I'm awaiting delivery.
