but they look so pimp, so get them!
i agree they look pimp but we'll have to wait and see if i get them  8)

Put them bottom of your list, if you have money left over from something else you know what to spend it on. Just remember if someone can see what your disc rotors look like your not riding fast enough.:wink:
hmmm looks like i'll just have to ride faster then  8)

That's probably an old gxp in there so that's not a suprise... Save up for some new cranks would be the best idea. It's almost pointless buying a bb that's worth a similar amount to the cranks.

A straight swap for a new GXP BB would be fine, the new versions are much better sealed.
  • It may be much better made, but the cranks are not really worth keepin everything going.

I'd definitely save and buy new cranks as well, more expensive in the long run, but get a much better product in the end.

if i remember rightly the isoflows on my claud butler where square taper not GXP, but i could be worng, might be worth looking into. if its square taper, i'd just get a new deore crank or similar external bb style crank

well i hope mine goes differently ! i was just checking over my bike before 2morrow and noticed that even when just wheeling the bike, the back brake WILL NOT lock up the rear wheel. i can adjust the gap between the pads and rotor, but when i get so that the brake actually works, it drags on the rotor !!!!:o

reset the pistons perhaps, and usually the brake locking up is a bad thing.

    Nice, well done mate!

You should change your location on here to 'waaayy up ahead' (power of positive thinking an' all that!)

I wish I lived somewhere near the midlands, I'd have more than 5 people to race against, all I get is two majorly quick guys, a couple of average and a load of slow people.

13th's a good solid result I assume, keep at it.

i was expecting it to be nearer 25lbs but its still feels light ! :P

Wheels, brakes, cranks, then finishing kit that should get you well under 25lbs.

so in that case i just need brakes, cranks and some carbon finishing kit
btw is there anything i should be doing to increase my chances for tomorrow ?

I'm yet to race at national level yet, I will be this year but I won't be a massive help. To be brutally honest, ignore the top 15 at the start, they'll go steaming off at a pace you can keep 5 minutes, race you're own race at your tempo and have fun. Sherwood's nice and flat too; so keep it constant and keep drinking.

Carbon finishing kit isn't the greatest and the only time it's lighter is with the bars. If you want reliability and light weight I'd go for:

    http://www.xcracer.com/shop/viewproduct ... oductid=35
    http://www.xcracer.com/shop/viewproduct ... oductid=36
    http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop ... st_345.htm

you can go lighter but for the money that's unbeatable although out of the things you need that lot above should be bottom of the list.

right, i have £85 but i'm not sure what i should spend it on as the brakes need sorting, my saddle creaks like an old mans knees and i want to get some pimpy bits and lighter finishing kit ! i also need some new mtb shoes soon :?
i rather like the look of these...

Just get the bg sports, I haveboth and the difference is negligible.

    Fix whats broken first.

Look at French/german websites you could get some decent stuff very very cheap
