  • The bike hut one from halfrauds does the job well, I'd definitely recommend it and quite cheap at £20.

    Nice bike you got there
  • thanks for the comments guys :D:wink: btw the pics don't even do it justice ! :D:o
  • Looking good man! Now it only needs some shiny bits to really set it off. Red or gold should do the trick!

  • not to sound cruel, but this threat just has pictures of your bike,

how much have you spent on upgrades? What year is the frame?

possibly upgrade a frame to something lighter, by all means customization is great, but its you choice dude, also, get that bike muddy as hell! Why is it inside and clean?

No mountain bike should be clean! EVER.

Not everyone has stupid amounts of cash to spend on a extremely light frame. There are no problems with that frame, and he may not even be too worried about weight.

    the frame is 07 :o

i've also got a shock pump now :D
:D its a specialized air tool . it can also pump up tyres :P
i went to my clubs cyclo-cross training session last night and the bike felt AMAZING ! :D:lol::D it was also VERY muddy !!! :P
and mountain monster i think that a white theme would look quite nice (it would also match the bar ends !) but thanks for the suggestions :)

btw, saying not to sound cruel doesn't take away from what you say. The same as if someone says not to be racist, but...

The one from bikehut should do, Halfords. There should be a schrader valve somewhere on the forks, either at the bottom of one of the lower legs or at the top. Unscrew the valve cap, attach the pump and pump them to the required PSI as you would do with your tyres. look here for setting sag corectly, so you've got the right amount of air in them. This is appropriate to for dual air forks, for example rebas.

The sag should be about 15-20mm on a 100mm fork. Sag is the amount of compression when you sit on the bike. A shoelace tied around the stanchion works to make it easier to measure and so you can do it yourself. A zip tie also works though you could risk damaging the stanchion when removing it.
  • Jake, bikes looking very nice now and glad you like it, that's the most important thing.

They're about £160 on crc, i was considering one but decided against it, the whole 2x10 setup didn't seem worth it to me, new cassette, chain, chainset (ok I replaced those anyway) but new mechs and shifters add up.

Also if you do get it the black and grey IMO would go better with your colours on the bike than the red one.

looks like i've got a very expensive shopping list !!!!!

avid elixir 5 brake set £134.95
    shimano slx chainset £99.99
maxxis high roller and crossmark tyres £28.90
    total £263.84
    :?
btw would anyone be interested in buying my old dart forks ?
  • possibly going to cannock chase a week on saturday !!! :D can't wait lol 8)
should be a good test for the forks (and wheels ! ) as the last time i went my bike was as standard ! :P
i'm also wanting some new bars because with the bar-ends on my hands are crushed against the brake levers :( my budget is about £30 preferably flat or low riser and quite light
    :D any reccomendations ?

You could try carbon cycles bars. I've heard good reviews of them.

Those are basically the same price, and about 25 grams lighter than the raceface ones!

Looking Good. How do you find the Rebas on that frame? I've got a 2004 XTC that I'm considering putting the Rebas off my NRS onto.

It depends what condition they are all in.

The problem with things like rockshox darts is that they are what people are upgrading from-not upgrading to. That said, they might appeal to someone building a budget pub/hack bike. For that, if in vgc, id probably say £30 for the forks, and £25 for the wheels
