  • Since i went on a work experience placement in school and saw what happens in an engineering company, I knew thats where my future was. When they told me they do apprenticeships which will often progress into HNC's/HND's etc etc and better engineering jobs, I knew thats what I should do. I got arguably the best set of GCSE results in my year group and a few of my friends got into King Edwards Sixth form college which is the 2nd best of it's type in the country and i could have easily. They thought i was mad to do that however now I've had the best run so far and look set to continue this.

Apprenticeships in engineering, sciences etc are what we should be encouraging, and not for the government to subsidise to get half-wits off the jobless lists which I sometimes fear it's becoming.
