Wasn't Petacchi wearing one of those bracelet things yesterday as well? I didn't know what it was though.

Were there any other DNSes apart from Hayman?

I just read up on those Power Balance things, OMG what a crock of sh*t. Another good reason you shouldn't hold up sports stars as role models, they'll prositiute themselves for any old junk.

Wiggins does like his tat performance enhancers though, Oval chainrings anyone

I'm just off to sell him a special stick for telling him when it will rain :D

France tv went live 10 minutes ago. First thing they said was it is raining at the finish line.
A couple of minutes up on the fastest schedule. Yes, it must be the Tour....erm....

And the average speed for the stage yesterday was 43.2 km/hr, with the fastest schedule being 46 km/hr.

    Yes.
While looking as if they were out on a Sunday morning run for most of it.

    46.4kph for today's second hour.

Taaramae is 33rd overall, only 45 seconds down so is virtual leader.

Whoops, he's the one I meant. Hayman, Hanson... Aussies, who can really tell em apart?!

Apparently there are officials scanning bikes for batteries now at the Tour.

Talking about the crashes yesterday, Merckx said: “It's part of the job. Especially in the beginning of a Grand Tour You can not blame the organisation. A straight line is 1800 meters long enough anyway, right? It is the riders themselves who bear the blame. If you do not want to brake and if you are not afraid to go for an opponent who is faster, the do not be afraid of the crash,”

Haven't read anything about riders blaming Cavendish for the crash....

On the ITV podcast, I'm sure Matt Rendell called him Alan Hansen.

'Cos Cav pretty much held his hands up and said "That's racing", as did Mondory

According to the beeb Hunt said that Cavendish tangled handlebars with someone. Might explain his rather strange trajectory.

Yeah, they were discussing this on Eurosport before live coverage started - it was a Lampre rider but I can't rememeber which one.

Can definitely see this splitting up before the finish, and surely somebody has to take a flyer over that final climb?

Delage only injured rider and has now abandoned.

Cadel right up there. Top rider in these conditions.

Going to miss Saxo's presence if they go. They always seem the most professional and complete team to me.

Nah........he's just found out who is grassing to the feds from within.

The wet is making a lot of folks nervous.
I'd be surprised if we are chuteless from now until the end.

Let's keep Cancellara in yellow for a week and forget about the Schlecks and the GC.
Yeah, very professional, but only in the strictest sense of the word.
